Having done 6+ M5x/S5x swaps I can tell ya the M54 manifold definately intrudes into the booster space more in some ways but less in others. The way the underside runner goes a single stack booster likely would have a better bet at fitting, like a P944 unit or something of the like.
I'm going to try flipping the aluminum bracket and shaving the nubs on the manifold, and if that fails I will find a different booster.

I'm running the E32/iX booster without the spacer and have a decent amount of room to an M50 intake manifold. You have to do some firewall modifications, though.

I used a VAG booster for my M50 swap. I don't know the clearance differences between the M50 and the M54.

Lots of progress today, and some set backs.
I got the entirety of the rear suspension assembled as a unit and setup on the furniture dolly for easy moving until its needed.
I finished installing the ABS pump with new brackets, and plumbing all of the lines.
I finally found a dye that matched the leather perfectly and dyed the seat backs to match. I installed them after letting them dry overnight.
and now for the set backs....
I can't find where I read that the E32 735i booster works straight up with the M54 but it sure as shit does not. Major interference issues attempting to drop the manifold back on.
I'm hoping I can remove the booster and flip the angled aluminum bracket between it and the firewall. With luck it will not hit the strut tower, and it will give me another half inch or so along with removing those 2 nubs on the manifold that I can do without.

Jordan, this build is nothing short of phenomenal. It almost makes me want to delete my thread, crawl into a hole, and chew on a piece of crap whilst looking angry.

Test fit of the radiator duct, looks good:
Test fit of the Nissens parallel flow condenser, for R134a use. Fits perfect.
Mounting the hood hinge after it was painted off the car.
Upper door frame seal cleaning, as they were on the right, once cleaned and coated with Gummi Pflege.
Putting the guts back into the passenger door. Door handle, lock, catch, linkages, window guides, regulator and of course the window glass. New inner and outer window wiper trims.
I then did the same on the drivers door.
I decided to tackle the seat belts today. The ones that came with the car were functional, but they were mildew damaged from being stored in the previous owners garage, or perhaps they got rained on. Either way they were gross.
I've always liked the look of the red EVO M3 belts on red e30's. I thought about buying those buy I found they were A. NLA, and B. Ridiculously expensive. I have had some experience repairing seat belts at work, like say taking a locked belt of the correct color and swapping it into a healthy mechanism that had the wrong color belt to make a sellable unit for a customer etc.
I bought 20 yards of red seat belt material online.
The process of re-reeling a e30 seat belt mechanism is pretty simple. It is something I'm going to skim over though because its one of those things you should not mess with unless you know how to do it right, safety and all.
All four belts were done, I'm deciding if I want the 3rd rear belt red or not. I have to bring them buy a local upholsterer shop to have the ends stitched up like factory. I saved the ends of the factory belts for them to match the stitching size and style.
and to finish today off I installed the Z3 stubby antenna in a new grommet.
