Got a steal on this today. 1990 Cirrusblau with a manual trans. ...Not an e30 but close.

A friend bought this car a year ago from the original owner and never did much to it. Wasn't started in almost a year... charged up the battery, put some fresh gas in, and drove her home.

240,000 miles and she runs and drives straight. Interior is much cleaner than the outside. Heated seats, working obc, and a car phone.

First order of business is to replace some vacuum hoses under the hood, and possibly the o2 sensor to smooth out the idle. Some new fluids, a valve adjustment, and a good cleaning inside and out.

Eventually would like to address the rust as best I can... Goddamn Connecticut winters have taken a toll after 25 years. :(

Did a little messing around today, starting with pulling the crooked front bumper off.



Quick and easy, remove side markers, trim, and four bolts up front.



Passenger foglight is completely gone, looks like someone had an incident with a rouge curb at one point.

Temporarily patched the vacuum hose from the icv to the intake manifold with JB Waterweld until the new one comes in.



Worked like a charm. If you've never used this stuff before it's great, like mighty putty on steroids. Smoothed out my idle considerably... I could hear the cracked hose sucking air before.

Still getting a check engine code 1222 off the stomp test. Should be 'lambda 1' which I gather is the o2 sensor.

On a side note check out how clean the inside of the head looks for 240k !
