Ps I'm not a body guy lol not my area of expertise lol any advise would be helpful
Just finished shaving, tucking, painting my bay. I'd suggest scraping all of that seam sealer out (definitely don't apply body filler over seam sealer) and welding those plates in fully else I think you will be more prone to cracking after you apply body filler. Try to do as best a job as you can with the welding and grinding down the welds so that your body filler application is minimal, only to smooth things out. Painting over a thick application of seam sealer will likely result in some cracked paint unless the seam sealer has A LOT of time to cure. It tends to shrink a bit over time, especially if it's near a heat source, like exhaust manifolds. In terms of rust prevention I sprayed all the hidden surfaces of raw metal with weld through primer, but I'm in socal so I don't have nearly the issue with rust like you would. Also, wherever you are welding, get every single speck of original BMW seam sealer out or else the welds will be awful. I found a torch, various stiff bristle brushes, paint scrapers, and small flat screw drivers to get into the cracks worked well.

Love the build and the progress you've been making, although... I'm going to have to disagree with deleting the "battery tray." That is clearly a six pack holder while you do engine work, where will the beers go?!

Yeah I just got it sprayed ended up just keeping the undercoat, and at the moment it seems like it should hold up. I could have gave the engine bay more loving but I think once everything's put together it should look great! I got the main areas leaking good but up along the firewall and under fuse box I could have put more time into it! Thanks for input hope your build turns out!

Unfortunately it's already sprayed. I did slack on some sealer up along the firewall but everywhere I welded I made sure it was 100% clean and I had a good ground thanks for the advice everything you said is on point appreciate it
