Yeah, I don't really get it. I think I've seen less than 5 out and about over the past few years. Guess they all rotted out? The ones that do come up people seem to think they are worth their weight in gold lol.

Anybody have input on the rear valence??

I've been trying to figure out to do with the rear end/valence of the car. Going with the plastic bumper swap and I know the cabrio/early model valence will look funny. I even think the late model oem valence is a little lacking compared to the styling of the front of the car. I don't really like the idea of a aftermarket valence since I'll prob never add side skirts and the front is oem. I've been toying with the idea of making a custom oem style valence for the rear. I can get a late model one cut off of a parts car. Thinking I could use that as a template to build from/make the desired look I want. Has anyone done this, or have any input/suggestions? Interested to hear your guys thoughts and ideas in this.

^ thanks me too although I've been slacking on the paint/body work.

Some more progress last night/this morning. Decided it was time to tackle the rear end of the car and ended up with this.

Let me say this was a royal pain in the ass to do by yourself!!
I struggled with the e brake cables. All the write up I read said you can just pull them from the back of the car all the way through the tubes. Mine were getting hung up right behind the brake lever. Read that you could get to them from underneath and figured I could fish them through from there so I removed the exhaust heat shied and what do you know?!! Cabrio's must be different, no access under there. Ended up getting lucky that the tubes weren't seized to the trailing arms and just dissembled the cable from the brake side and pulled it that way. I also accidentally pushed the driver side subframe bolt all the way up into the body. Hopefully I can get to it somehow...I'll worry about that another day. Time to order more parts and take a little break. This think kicked my ass big time!!

Rack is e36. I wish I knew if the color came stock on anything or what it was from. I just picked one I liked out of the color chip board at work. It's actually all gold pearl, no flake. They are similar, just the pearl is a lot finer and only really shows in the sun or on the sidetone of the paint.

That color reminds me if the ACS color.. they used a gold flake in black paint if my research is right.

I have new sway bar bushings shackles.. used my old ones and don't feel like refitting them. If I had known...

The steering rack.. I forget..stock or upgrade?

Got the perches off and the housings shortened today. Those will get welded up tomorrow at work. Also got the rear struts and springs out. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the subframe dropped and the trailing arms out. All the bushings back there are toast. Time to get another order in.

^^ thanks man, it's coming along. Yours looks to be moving along nice!! Some killer parts you've picked up!!

Got a little bit of time in the garage today before the girlfriend got home. My socket was to thick to get the spindle nut off so I will have to find a thinner walled one and wait till its back together and the front hubs are here. Today's progress.

Got a nice heavy box from these guys today,

so I guess it's time to get back to it. It was nice yesterday and I managed to get the new control arms, and new ps resivoir in along with the x-brace and fired it up to bleed the ps system. No leaks!! Also got these from the ups guy on Friday.

I will have another nice order of parts coming at the end of next week. Plan to have the coils in by then. Getting excited, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...at least till next winter. More updates as parts arrive.

Here's a better shot (still shitty iPhone that I dropped in a Moscow Mule while camping) of what the color will look like in the sun.
