Nothing major on the bodywork. Doors are cut in and I should have the outsides painted this week. Been sick so I haven't got much done.
Did get a update from CCW today though. Wheels are being welded up today or tomorrow. They were nice enough to send a teaser pic.

I'm honestly not sure what car the color is from I can get you that BASF code tomorrow if you are interested. When I saw how much the red was I just went to my color chips and picked something I liked. It's black with a lot of gold pearl, looks bronze in the sun. I'll try to get more pics of the paint process.

Nice progress so far. What color is that? In my experience red is the most expensive color to buy/repaint something in. Thats why I never will look at a red vehicle to buy. I always enjoy reading threads of e30's being repainted.
Sub'd
My brother and I fully stripped my e30 to metal and repainted it BMW 475 Black Sapphire Metallic. It was one long process (1.5 years), we did a little custom things, M3 style body line, shaved antenna whole, shaved windshield nozzles, ect.Last edited by 88BlackS-ETA; 02-02-2016, 11:20 PM.

Thanks, no doubt on another Clevelander! I'm by Tremont. Hope to find some meets or something this summer.

Got some stuff tore down so I can start prepping the rest for paint.
I'll take the doors to work and prep and paint them in my downtime.

Deck lid is done and home. Sorry in advance for the crappy pics. It's all iPhone shot. I honestly have 8+ hours in blocking this thing. It was wavy from bmw, not terrible but not perfect. It was a lot of work to loose the brake light but I probably would have done the same thing with a coupe trunk anyways. I have way moretime in the hood but those are the two places I said I'd spend the time to go better than oem.

Went poly just to tighten everything up, offsets bc why not? From everything I read it should just give it some more camber in the turns. I should be able to dial in the camber fine with the ground control camber plates...I hope. I did a e36 rack with new e30 inner and outers. Prob should have went e36 but I'm sure I'll never know the difference. Rack swap was a pita, at least for me by myself it was. Idea for the build, hmmm started a just a fun weekend/nice day car, but I'm sure once the paint, rearend refresh, suspension, and interior are done I'll move to something fun for the motor. Keep going back and forth with that one.

I, too, am replacing most of my front end even down to the hardware. If not replacing the fasteners I am at least restoring them. Still considering keeping the stock rack or go for an E36/46 rack and TREs. You?
Offset poly? Because racecar? or what is the idea of the build?Last edited by gart; 01-27-2016, 01:36 PM.

Bringing a Ohio E30 back to life
I lived in Silver Spring for 2 years. Would hook you up if I was still there. Come to Ohio when I get this out of my garage and we can work something out.
Yeah, prob going with Ground Control next month. The wheels killed the budget for this month but wanted to get the order in so I could have them in time for summer. New bushings also. Literally everything I took out got replaced, nuts, bolts, washers and errrythang. I struggled with the bushings for a bit the it hit me. 2 sets of vice grips! First one at about a half inch apart and the second one tight enough to get the bolt through and nut on. After I get the suspension I'll get these on. Also have a x-brace hanging on the wall waiting to get in the mix.

Wish I had a link to someone for paint and body.
Redoing any of the front suspension? See new sway bar links and mounts, new sway bushings too? Mine fit super tight and I will need an extra set of hands to reattach the sway bushing and bracket. Or was going to use a zip tie or a longer bolt to help squeeze them together... the bracket back into the chassis.
Looks like some nice progress!

Deck lid is done and ready to be cut and rubbed, for some reason can't upload pics now but will try again later.
Wheels are ordered and now I get to painstakingly wait for 5-6 weeks [emoji17] but that will give the bank account time to recover.
