Nice progress. I think that's the universal - "are you serious??!" look we all get from our GF's when we need some help in the Garage. LOL

So I had to give back the engine hoist to my friend for a while because he is swapping a motor. I'll get it back in a couple weeks and I'll continue with the trans fitting. During the mean time I wanted to drop the rear subframe. I got a rear poly bushing kit from IReland Engineering that should arrive today. Gonna throw those and new wheel bearings on after I reinforce the trailing arms, camber/toe adjusters, and take tons of measurements to work on my subframe to run medium case diff + e30 TA's with true coilovers. (End game build)

On to pictures of dirty things...
    Subframe dropped and dragged out
    From under car.

Here is the empty cavity where it all came from. Suprisingly clean :)

Axles off, boots aren't torn :)

    Trailing arms off.

Diff off. The diff is all the weight of that subframe. Crazy.

I took off about 1-2 lbs of dirt/oil muck off the subframe. Gonna continue to clean it and prep for welds. I want to box in the trailing arms like the 2002 turbo TA's are supposedly. Gonna try to find some pics and see how the factory did it. May copy/improve on it. Will also reinforce other areas I find as weak points :)

Since the motor is out I will be patching up the holes in the firewall as well.

And +1 for my gf holding the flare over the wheel to help my Vision. You can tell she's excited to help LOL. She probably hates this car.

    What Oliver said. ^^

The engine harness was pulled through the firewall into the car. I've yet to pull it, but yes, I plan to rewire the chassis harness because it's all 46 years old and some of the wires are chewed up and I'd rather not chase electrical
    Gremlins.

I will be using Megasquirt and the stock m20 engine harness. Apparently there is just 7 splices to make to one connector. Not sure if this will be the case with the painless kit. It's about ~$300

Did you pull all the wiring in the car? If so, do you plan to retire the whole car? Are there kits to do so or does it have to be done from scratch?

Well mine will be turbo, so
3" stainless DP to a flex pipe. then 3" all the way back to a muffler or resonator. Not sure yet. Will be open downpipe at first

This car is not a daily. It prob won't see the rain...live in CA for one...for two. I'm pretty sure the hood covers this no matter what.
