sucked to see your e30 get killed off by the tree, good old Northern beaches road side trees.

What's the game plan with the r32? fun streeter, or more for the fun national park roads out your way?

SO glad this thread is about a Nissan and not a VW. Nice looking skyline! Those are like the god of street cred here in the states :P

Once turbo swap and Haltech is done, just drive it as it is. More a cruiser with decent power than anything. The E30 will be back at some point and probably very harsh and racey, so it'd be a bit dumb to turn the R32 into something racey as well

I actually can't stand VW products, one of the few manufacturers that I would never own anything from.

Awe man that sucks about your 318 :( But I really like that R32, I saw one here in the states a few weeks ago and almost broke my neck looking at it. I'm actually a nissan fan I've been driving my friends SR20 swapped 240 for the past few days since my trucks brakes are metal to metal and my e30 is still apart, I've been enjoying it.

I hope your turbo is a journal bearing one though, they take the abuse pretty well from the compressor surge and are easy to rebuild if they start burning oil or have shaft play. I wouldn't run a BOV delete with a BB turbo IMO.

Subb'd for more R32 coolness though

It's a Garrett ball bearing, which are totally fine to run with flutter.
Note that flutter isn't the really bad type of compressor surge - that comes about from mismatched compressor and turbines.

The Chinashit turbos do eventually suffer from bearing wear due to the flutter, but I wouldn't run one anyway due to cases of the fins touching the housing, just shredding straight off and going back into the engine.

But no, genuine Garretts are fine with flutter. Note that many cars in the 80s and 90s didn't even have BOVs in any fashion.

Ideally I'll fit a recirc, but BOVs are just so prone to air leaks that I don't really want to.

im a fan, had three 32's so far

-suggest swapping out fuel pump with a bosch 040 if it hasnt been done already
-gut the cat or cat delete (speeds up spool time and cracks flames)
-Nistune tune if you guys can do it over there.
                -install hicas lock bar
-ditch the sound insulation on the floor, firewall and behind the back seat (saves 20kg)
-replace the coils if not been done (watch your plug gaps as popping underboost indicates a smaller gap required due to weak coils.
                - buy some dog bones and install 324mm GTR rotors, the factory calipers are fine. They stop a heap harder
                - replace all the coolant heater hoses inc the sneaky short one under the intake manifold if they are still original.. Really spoils your day when they pop

have a good feel of your front upper arms as well, jack it up and grab onto it and see if you can push them side to side. The bushes flog out and cause it to feel really horrible and floaty on the highway (scary at high speed). If they have been replaced before you should be ok, but if they are OEM still they will be fucked

ive been pining for another one of these. Super dependable if looked after and they sound great. Sure the 20 is laggy but they love to sit on the limiter.

                  RE:
-fuel pump: It's loud as fuck so I'm thinking it's a 040 or a clone or something else
-cat: has a 100 cell hi flow
-Nistune: going straight to a Haltech with either Yaris or LS coilpacks
-Hicas: Probably going to delete it at some point, though it works fine atm and it's not a race car lol
-sound insulation: again not a race car, I'd strip it then dynamat again
-brakes: if it ends up going stupid fast once RB25 highflow turbo and haltech are in, I'll have to do something. Already has good rotors and race spec pads
-coolant hoses: Noted, I've got silicone ones that came with the car ready to go in so I'll do them at some point

When this one comes up for sale eventually we can work something out if you want, even though you're on the other side of the country lol. Great road trip tho

hicas I never really liked on them, made the rear end feel twitchy and floaty. Remember a few times fighting the rear end yelling "BAD HICAS, NAUGHTY HICAS"

none of mine were ever race cars, daily drives. However these things as so fun to hammer around in you forget its a road car and the skyline bug bites! The most fun ive ever had in cars is in 32's. Just something about them

I don't throw mine around corners, it's too laggy to drive through. More a highway car/cruiser. So the HICAS doesn't really bother me atm, I probably won't slide it either. I don't want to spend huge money on it as my E30 will be coming back at some point, and that will be a stripped out uncomfortable stupid fast race car with numberplates... At least that's the plan

Not my R32, but it's part of my youtube channel group:

First proper video about the 5 speed swap on a friend's S15 Silvia. I personally think it's our best video yet, let me know what you like or don't like about it.

In R32 news, a little box turned up at a friend's house for me:

A brand new Haltech Elite 750, with wideband controller and loom.
It'll be wired in, and at the same time some LS coilpacks to replace the garbage wasted spark system, AND a highflowed RB25 turbo, which should give me the same power level and infinitely better response.

                        Hype levels: peaking

You Aussies sure like those nissan's and Haltech's lol. That s15 though, ughhh so much want it's pretty hard to get them in the states. My friend is basically set on putting an SR in a 4 door R32 since we can import them now that most are over 25 years old. I know people take the R32 sub-frames and swap them into 240's so I guess you can take a 240 sub-frame and put it in a r32??? But dang your r32 looks fun as hell to daily. I've been daily driving my turbo m42 and with the solid motor mounts and welded diff it's a little harsh.

Haltechs are just so common and easy to get support for, and they really are the best product for street/track use. I'm totally sold on using them now.

R32 and S13 frames are identical, aside from most R32 rears having HICAS, the rear wheel steering system. I have a S13 subframe that I'm rebushing at the moment to do a full HICAS delete that'll get installed soon
