Day 1: I just bought this 1991 BMW 318i for $800 8 days ago. Perfect interior but the engine needed a little (supposedly) work. I figured I had nothing to lose.


Day 2: The next day, with some help from a couple friends, I pulled the engine, the previous owner said I had to replace the water pump and thermostat. He also said I had to replace the oil rotor (this is bs).

Day 3: Started engine disassembly. I quickly realize (and you may be able to see in the last picture) a lot more was wrong/ missing than the water pump and thermostat. There were no gaskets anywhere, and over the last week I have been ordering gaskets as well as other parts such as brakes and a battery.
I will keep this thread updated as this project progresses. I would like to restore it was well as doing a couple modifications to the exterior by the time I am out of high school (I'm going into my junior year).
