The top left/right side actually bolted right in! It's like it was meant to be there from the factory. Pinepig cut an extra lower rubber mount in a half and we used 1.5 (stacked up basically) mounts on each side on the bottom and it fit perfect.

Sweet. More stuff to get on my yard run.

You used the stock e30 shift carrier and linkage, right?

I re-used my z3 1.9 shifter and installed new shifter components (the front selector rod joint, the rear mount, and the plastic cup), m20 shift rod and carrier. The m20 shift rod end was too "long" so I had to use a couple plastic/metal washers to minimize the play.

My old sheet metal console had less side to side play for sure.

Jacked the front end of the car up today and bled the system, had air in it for sure. Now the temp gauge is stuck dead in the center at 1/2 even with heater off :)

I am still using my A/C fan infront of the radiator.... I have been doing the same with my previous engine (have a spare fan if it fails lol).

Car so far is driving good, 1st gear is almost useless, rips through 2nd and chirps 3rd as well hehe. I am using s3.73 right now, and maybe I'll give 3.25 or 3.46 a try.

It's nice to have torque w/o having to redline the engine (aka m10).... can deff. get in trouble with how fast it accelerates though.

Thanks guys! Yeah I have to say it was all worth it, it just puts a smile on my face driving it now, even though it sounds a little like a darth vader w/o an intake box/filter lol. Accelerated up the uphill on ramp and it just spun the tires in 2nd, I love the M30!

I am in the middle of fixing my late model cluster and adding a check engine light to it (and probably will need to install early fuel gauge as well to read my tank properly), then it's off to check it's emissions next week.

Good work. That thing must be really quick with the 3.73 in it.

                    Thanks!

I am at about 75 mph @ 3k rpm in 5th. Using s3.73 and getrag 260/6 with 14" 195/60 tires. I think I am getting about 23mpg right now in mixed driving, mostly city and short trips. Will have to try hard to keep it under 3k rpm for a full tank and see what it does then.

I need to find that online caclulator to find out how it would change if I switch from s3.73 to s3.46...

I would say 3k at 75mph is just fine! I'd probably leave that diff in there. :)

I know, I got the stock e32 airbox that I need to install or make some mounting brackets for. It sounds insane w/o the box though lol FUH RAZE!

Installed check engine light bulb today and replaced the front strip for the indicator lights in the cluster with one from a non-abs car. I don't want to take chances with BAR asking me why my ANTI-LOCK light doesn't work etc.

                            more like it

                            little bit of cleaning

                            ready to swap

no more chrome cluster rings, I think i'll stick with this look for now. those chrome/plastic rings in my experience also block the light from the light bars inside the cluster.

                            check engine light

                            Done for now

Very nice Jean! Keep the chrome rings off, it looks great! I totally forgot about polishing the plastic piece. When I do my cluster I'm definitely doing that.

I assume everything has to be American spec on the cluster, that will be a bitch to do for me hah. It looks awesome though, fully functional gauges are very hard to find and really make the difference while driving.

What is your check engine light wired into to make it illuminate?
