I did want to pay for a solid mount shifter so i decided to make one
I found the aluminum circle in the scrap bucket at work and it almost fit the nylon bushing
so i made a brass sleeve that the nylon pressed into and then pressed into the aluminum circle
I made the shifter long and decided i can cut it down to the height that feels good in the car
after turning it down i took it over to the mill and made the end flat to receive the brass bushings
Shifter looks great! Tunnel mounted shifters feel so good. Make a dssr while you're at it!
Are you installing a vacuum pump to your crank case vent or is it straight valve cover to can?
Thanks! It feels amazing
I did make one I just didn't take many pics cas it didn't work out the way I wanted
Functional but ugly
It's just straight from valve cover to can -12 lines I think
This was an awesome day!! I took a week off work to get her from an empty painted bay to a running car with all -AN fuel lines, Meth injection, and well everything else needed to run
A GIANT thanks to Dennis over at OMG Motorworks for helping me with all these parts and dealing with my constant emails of, Oh wait i need one of these too and oh wait i need two of these every day for that entire week :SOS:
The oem wire holder wouldn't fit with the turbo and the previous owner of my valve cover/ catch can had the coil packs mounted on the valve cover
so I used 3 of the holes to mount my own wire holder to get them out of the way and save them from melting
i dont have any painted and installed pictures…sorry
So this is where I thought everything would be great, get tuned and be in my way to a summer of fun!
Well didn't go that way, which I should have known
I got a tow from a friend since she wouldn't idle on her own and well it's not good to drive 3 hours with a base map and be unsure of how everything will turn out
Good thing I did because right off the bat after he got her to idle on her own the rpm gauge and fuel and well things were just going wacky
After a while of messing with it I called Kieth (whodwho) and he said check the CPS
I adjusted that closer to the right gap and it got a little better but kept going crazy and leaning out but was idleing fine
He was on this for a couple hours then we pulled it off and I played with it while he tuned another car
Tried changing the plugs, making sure the gap was good and check whatever else I could think of
Still third gear pull boom leaning out about 4500rpm
I ended up leaving her at the shop for a month while I sent him a new CPS then let him try to tune it when he had free time
Well still no dice
Fast forward to me bringing her home and pulling my hair out
I pulled out the oem in tank and put in a walbro 255 also wired in a relay for my external Bosch 044 so that was getting the full amperage it needed
Still no good
Well it ended up being the oem line from the in tank to the external pump was collapsing in on itself
I changed that out with -AN like the rest of the system and hallelujah FUEL!!
