That should be easy to do since mine was at 2500 with a heavy m30b35 swap! I have the weight of m30b35 long block wkth most things attached including trans posted somewhere on this forum , it didn't have a starter and afm attached iirc .

Thank god m6x is aluminum, front end actually feels better than it did before with turn in .

Picked up a 3.15 lsd to try as 3.46 is kind of mad with 5 speed lol

Anyone got a set of e30 medium case output flanges laying around to sell cheaply ?

          I had a 3.15 torsen from a Z3 in my m60 e30, it was a great ratio for the 5 speed.

I have some medium case flanges I’d ship to you for $20.

Awesome ! Ping me your PayPal :). This 3.15 torsen came out of z3 , random find guy was locally parting a car out and I got it for $100 !

I grabbed it for a cheap way to test a different ratio and see if I need to go even lower or not .

            Cheers !

Forgot to update this thread , I got the car to a local shop with corner weight scales to see what the balance of the car is like compared to what it was before with my previous swap.

Pleasant surprise :) I can probably get it to the same weight (2500 lbs was the weight with m30b35 and half a tank of gas and full interior ) if I remove some stuff in the trunk and fill it up with 1/2 of gas instead of getting it on the scales with 3/4 tank.

But, still I am pretty happy with the results . Factor in the exhaust on this swap is probably double the weight of the previous exhaust and the new massive 540/740/x5 group size battery is also heavier than e30 size battery I had under the hood previously .

Driver (left) side front - 689 lb
Passenger (right ) side front - 698 lb
              Left rear - 608 lb
              Right rear - 598 lb

              (Compare to previously
              LF 703 RF 741
              LR 530 RR 526)
              - you can tell moving the battery to the rear made the front end less heavy and brought more weight to the rear with a bigger battery. 741 corner was with e30 front mounted battery since this is an early 318 chassis .

These are without making adjustments to the coilovers, just a baseline to see where it is.
The diagonal and front / rear balance seems good ?

              Diagonal 49.65%
              Front 53.50%
              Rear 46.50%
              Right 49.99%
              Left 50.01%

Total 2593 , measured on Longacre scales .

Those are pretty damn good numbers... I love the 84/85 models. I’m slowly taking my car through it’s the “diet” and I think even with the M20 I will weigh more than that

Thanks man, now to fix a few outstanding issues before autocross seasons starts and see what the car feels like at the limit .

It's fun seeing actual numbers , no doubts and actual data !

No, will stick with SCCA as it's more diverse and more challenging, and local to me.

Not much of an update here, but wanted to just say I really really love e46 330 rack swap! I did manage to swap the 3.15 lsd in place of 3.46 but haven't really gotten a chance to try it in autocross, it made the car a little more friendly at freeway speeds w/o having to sit at 4k rpm !

I haven't driven the car for over two months since I've had a nasty cycling accident (flew over the bars, landed on my head/shoulder/back, cracked the helmet and broke my back T6-T9 fractured from the fall).

My first event this year at autocross was a wash, had a massive brake failure. Ended up being a bad front Wilwood master cylinder and bad rear right caliper. Car has a lot of power, but not enough grip and brakes were crappy.
I am still not 100% sure current brake setup works as good as stock, but will try more aggressive pads next to see how big of an improvement that will be before having to swap calipers and rotors to BBK.

Oh, I finally got the missing front driver side fender trim in all black that I need to install..just need to locate or purchase the little fender plastic fasteners for it to snap into (I think I've purchased them before) ! It's been too long.

Oh man that doesn't sound fun. Hopefully recovery will be quick and not too painful. At some point we should meet up, but alas I'm e30 less.. dmitriy still holds the fort down nicely though

                              Speedy recovery Jean
Also just wondering what speed vs stopping distance were you getting from your brake set up??? Assuming you were stock on brakes except the Wilwood cylinder, time as passed since I read you thread.

Thank you! So, I am comparing stopping power and required pedal effort utilizing the same stock late model e30 front/rear calipers using stock master cylinder and pedalbox with booster Vs. manual pedal box and dual masters 5/8" size.

Stock e30 brakes are more than powerful enough for autocross, you start experiencing fade if you are doing enduro type of events where you are doing multiple laps (3-5) back to back, and usually it's solved with a better pad compound and fluid.

I just don't feel confident yet with the boosterless setup, most of it probably had to do with the brake failure with a faulty wilwood master and bad rear caliper, I essentially lost almost all braking power front and rear. So I have to revist/ re-test this and I'll report back if there is interest.
