    Thoughts on my new E30?

I just Purchased this car sight unseen, a friend of mine that lives in the area went to check it out before hand. Plan is to have my friend do a 5 Speed swap on it, Then take care of interior issues and other things after I go and pick it up. bought it for $1200. supposed 72k on motor new timing belt and valves due to snapping after sitting in garage for long time. wondering what I'll be getting myself into cost wise of the swap though?

Congrats! Looks good for the $.

x2, couldn't be bothered to mask or remove clips = rushed dont give a fuck job.

looks good enough to bring back tho, but theres a lot of work to be done.

remove all the shit out of it
                  pull the interior out
                  clean the carpet
                  yank the motor
high pressure clean the crap out of it.
put it back together and replace stuff along the way

Damn, overspray on the seat? No fucks given...lol. It looks like Calypsorot in the engine bay but the car looks like Brilliant or Zinno.

Looks like a good car to bring back. It should clean up nicely with some elbow grease.

You're probably looking at $500 in parts for the 5 speed swap plus labor. Then maybe a few thousand dollars on maintenance and other trim bits. Depends on how much it needs.

Thanks, I’m hoping it shines up! The story I know is that it sat in a bus garage for about 14 years an old mechanic bought it and tried driving it snapped the timing belt, replaced all the bent valves and the belt. His wife got in a fender bender, reason for respray.(doesn’t explain paint inside door sills) also told me he’s replaced the transmission once, which is weird under 100k right?
