Maaco or any other body shop around my house back home won't touch them if they are already prepped. My brother has prepped a car for painting and he knows how to do it. We have a sprayer but I would rather have someone that knew what they were doing to make it look good. Obviously that happened in your case.

That's because then they can't warranty the work. If you were ever to try to take it back to them if something went wrong with the paint, they could just say it was something that happened from the work you did.

Yea, I kinda figured that. I don't think it is too bad, they said with paint it is going to cost around $150 to get it done. I don't know if that is bad or not but I have to pay it so whatever. Your stuff looks great, hope mine comes out that nice.

Looks really good, do you plan on putting it on your car anytime soon?

Probably in a few weeks, when I've recovered more from my surgery.

Lookin damg good broseph! Lighten those bumper supports like we talked about! I did mine with old hardware, used parts, and in about 12 hours time. So yours will look much much better. :)

I think I'm going to start putting the bumpers back together today. Andrew just brought all the rebar back over, and that was the only thing keeping me from putting everything back together.

I've also still got my set of all-red turn signals, but I think before I put those back in, I'm going to take the refreshing a step further and repaint all the housings and frames of the sidemarkers with SEM, since they're all faded and grey, they'll look like ass against the black trim. I'm thinking about having Andrew wire them up so they blink with the turn signals, that would be hot. Now I need to get some fogs...

Buncha impatient fucks, you are! That's the beauty of having a beater for the winter, I've got as long as I want to get all this crap done.

I might put the bumpers up on the car for a few mockup shots, but Andrew and I still have to mount the rear apron.

I also just ordered my Eurostyle Rieger front spoiler. :D

That's what I've been doing for the last week in the Accord. Mad ebrake drifting FTW.

                              $185 shipped.

Spoilers aside, I got the bumpers completely reassembled today. I was marred by a tiny setback tho, the pieces of side trim on the rear bumper developed hairline cracks in the paint, at the seams where they're bonded together. I paniced at first, but they're super fine cracks, and they're just in the surface of the paint, probably just in one of the top coats. I checked to make sure they didn't go through the fiberglass or plastic epoxy, and they're not, it's just the surface paint. I'm willing to bet they probably happened when I was installing the trim. No big deal though, since it's just SEM, I can just sand the cracks and prime and repaint over them. They won't be getting flexed around anymore, so they should be fine.

So anyway, here's the pics of the bumpers reassembled, with all new hardware, and everything cleaned and painted, including the bumper shocks and mounting brackets. I reccomend to anyone, if you EVER have to pull your bumpers off for any reason, order all new hardware to put them all back together. It's MUCH nicer than having to fuck around with 20 year old, rusted out shit, and it's a good idea to clean all of the brackets really well, and hit them with a couple coats of Rustoleum.

I just realized that I can't put the rear bumper on with the side trim installed, because you have to bolt the end of the bumper to the body, so that has to come off, anyway.
