You might want to use that Bondo-Hair I mentioned instead of regular Bondo. The Bondo-Hair is flexible and much better for cracks in plastic. Its like fine long fiberglass strands in resin. Just add hardner and spread. Regular Bondo has a better chance of cracking after paint then Bondo-Hair does.
I think the Bondo will do just fine, we're not going to be using enough in a big enough area to really worry about cracking.

I do agree with Ritalin. I would use the bondohair - then a very light coat of bondo if needed over that.

Yes, use bondo-hair. Any cracks and you will be pissed. Cover your ass on this. You don't want to be fixing crack later when they could have easily been avoided.

Deffinatly use the bondo hair, cracks can form in even the smallest spots.

Where can I get the Bondo-Hair at? I got the Bondo at Wal-Mart, but I don't remember if they had Bondo-Hair or not.

Every place has it....its just bondo with fiberglass type hair in it.

3M™ Bondo® can repair everything from dings in your car or boat to cracks in your home. Trust the Bondo® brand to have the right filler or resin for the job.

They make a long-hair and a short hair, but I usually use long hair.

(Sorry Andy, accidentally deleted your post.)

He was asking (I'd like to know also), will the Bondo-Hair sand as smoothly as regular Bondo? If so, I'll go ahead and try that. Like you guys said, I'd be pissed to find a crack later when it could have been avoided.

                        read my previous:

IT isn't the best, but used correctly, with the correct sanding (low grit) it will work great, and smooth it out with a light coat of bondo. I would not use bondo to fill that gap.

Cool, thanks Trent. I'll go pick up some of that stuff tomorrow.

                            What my thread said was:

Will bondo hair sand as smooth as regular bondo? The cracks we have to fill are literally only a few mm wide, if that. Plus, some resin from fiber glassing has already filled part of the cracks. Seems bondo would be a better choice for such a small gap.

Also, isn't it more likely that cracks will form where the bondo meets the plastic, rather then across the bondo since it is such a small are to fill? I just don't see how bondo hair would be any better in our application. Not arguing, just trying to learn.
