I'm still debating whether to do the same or paint them to match and trying to find pictures of matching ones.

What he said. I don't like body color matched bumper trim, or in the case of a black car, I don't like it glossy. I think it looks better satin against the gloss paint on the bumper.

Indeed. I'm thinking I might pull off all of my side moldings also, and we'll paint them at the same time that we paint the bumper trim. I want to paint those chrome strips in them black, and now would be the perfect time, since we have the bumper trim paint, and the self-etching primer.

Do it.. it's easy just time consuming.

BTW.. how much does Euro trim sell for? I might start fabbing it at home and selling online if it's worth the effort.

Abrahams sells all 4 pieces for $119. I can't remember how much I paid at BMA.

Damn, that's a lot less than I thought it was. But at any rate, I like my sidemarkers, and I'm not about to do the chop on the rear trim again already.

What are your plans for window trim? I would paint the inner-most trim satin black as well, and leave the chrome around the outer-most trim. Or do without any of it since the only thing left chrome is your kidneys.

That's exactly what I'm doing, as it came on late-model E30's. Once I put my new wheels on, it was pointed out that the chrome trim totally set off the machined lips of my wheels, and I agreed.

Instead of painting your side moldings, can't you just replace them with the later style ones on that didn't have that chrome strip? It's what I would do.

Also how do you take those strips off that are on the fender without taking the fender off?

Also, glad you're keeping the U.S. sidemarkers. Project is looking good and i'll be referencing it for my swap.

The side molding strips at the rear quarter panel don't fit, they're not the right length, due to the different sized wheel arches. And the moldings that are on the fenders come off just like the others, they're held on with clips.

Sticking with the Borbet's, but this winter, they're being refinished and powdercoated, with the centers done in a Nogaro-Silver color.
