Another quickie little update. Things are moving a little slower now since body work is pretty time consuming. I had to bring in some help from some friends to strip the old DiamondSchwartz paint off. We're fixing most of the small dings and dents (the pass door was from a donor car) so we can get this thing painted. We changed our minds and are going with Electric Red (a la E39 and E90) instead of Helrot.
Here are a couple progress pics.
New CF hood test fitting. We are going to paint this (what a shame) so this may be the last picture you'll see of the pretty weave.
Rage Evercoat Extreme filler being used here. Lots of sanding still to do
Fiberglass trunklid test fitting. We hope to use the stock hinges minus springs to hold this thing in.
And for those that like that Style 44 look here's another side shot
We're out getting some paint quotes now, hopefully should be painted in the next couple weeks.Comment

CF hood is used, so I don't know the manufacturer. It's a street hood with all the mounting points for the latches, etc. It's not a huge improvement in weight, roughly 26lbs without hardware. Stock hood is about 36lbs with all the hardware.
Fitment is excellent, gaps are all as good as the stock.
I'll see if I can find out the maker.Comment

The nice thing is that this does reuse all the factory mounts, so it'll mount in a snap.
We'll decide soon enough.Comment

The stock 318is rack is still in there. This car came with the airbags, so swapping to a different rack isn't so easy I'm told. We're going to try this out, and see how we like it first.Comment
