    Started life as a humble 320i auto, right down to the 14 inch steel wheels with plastic hub caps!

    Asides from my RG Alpina reps, the car is total sleeper on the outside (or OEM+), but with a lot more grunt!

    engine management is bosch motronic version 1.0 with upgraded chip. stage 1 chip currently installed with more aggressive timing and fuel maps, rev limit is currently 5200rpm.
    *SSQUID Tuning chip being burnt to complement engine mods and to allow 6800 rpm redline . Custom SSQUID chip will be installed after sufficient break in time and installation of numerical higher geared differential ( 3.46 or 3.73) stage 2 chip will have a more aggressive tune and will subsequently raise rev limit to 6800 rpm.
    # exhaust currently uses factory cast iron manifolds, oem catalytic converter backed with custom fabricated 2.5 inch exhaust with both resonator and rear muffler.
    * flywheel is a single mass unit that has been lightened to 12#s, factory is 22#s, cutch, pressure plate thow out bearing and clutch hydraulics are all new .

    4........Suspension

    * IP brand 60/40mm lowering springs, German market TUV approved
    * KYB gas charged strut inserts and rear shocks
    * Ireland Engineering front adjustable camber plates
    * Ireland Engineering 25mm front, 19mm rear adjustable sway bars. all polyurethane bushings.
    *Ireland Engineering billet rear swaybar mounts with chassis tie ins, rear sway bar mount gusseting, rear sway bar adjustable heim joint linkage
    * Ireland Engineering front subframe reinforcement plates , Ireland Engineering adjustable heim joint linkage
    * new lower control arms with e36 M3 offset control arm bushings
    * new front and rear rotors, brake pads
    * all factory rubber spring isolation pads removed
    * currently set with approximately 2.0 degrees negative front camber for aggressive turn in


    5.......Wheels/tires


    * 16x8.5 et 25mm BBS RS replica wheels with 4x100mm bolt pattern
    * studs replace lug bolts as fasteners
    * 20mm rear, 10mm front hubcentric spacers
    * 205/50x16 tires with 260 treadwear rating


    6.......Audio

    * Kenwood 4 channel head unit with usb and aux inputs
    * all speaker wiring is dedicated, and does not use factory chassis ground wiring
    * Monoblock dedicated single channel subwoofer amplifier with remote gain control
    * factory premium rear speakers using Boston Acoustics crossovers
    * 5 1/4 dual cone front speakers
    * 10" subwoofer in ported enclosure firing through factory ski pass, unit is solidly mounted to rear trunk wall
    * Passport radar detector


    as purchased ( $100 bucks :)





    as it currently sits.....lotsa 16 year olds blood sweat, busted knuckles and dads checkbook..


    Thats an E28 Mtech 1 spoiler, not an iS. The car looks great though.

    318is 80k miles, bought it torn apart as a racecar that was owned by Aaron Reid, the brother of Jason Reid who did the body work for 1552 when they were in Florida. He had a kid and sold it to a neighbor who let it sit until I got it. It was abandoned in the beginning of the build. It's almost finished now, but that will be another thread.
