The only reason that I waited to put the tranny in is because I didn't have a clutch until last week. That and it gave me lots of time to do some mock-up for other little things.

That is the only way I'll ever do it.

Why did you install them at differant times? The top bolt into the transmission to the engine is a whore....As most who have done a cutch know.

    Ok, update time.
Got the transmission in. God that was a bitch. Advice: put the motor AND tranny in at the same time. I had hell trying to get to the top bolts on the transmission because of the extra 10 degrees of tilt. It put the bolts right on the edge of the transmission tunnel and had to go at them with multiple swivels. I put the driveshaft in with a new CSB and flex disc. I put the shifter assembly in, I've got to modify the selector rod in order to get the shifter centered. I'm going to cut it in half and put a bolt in there to be able to turn it and center it perfectly, then once it's centered I'm going to tack weld it and pull it out to fully weld it.
I put the new rear end cover gasket on and filled the rear end with Royal Purple 75w90. Filled the transmission with Redline MT-90, all the gaskets on the transmission got replaced, same with shifter bushings.
I've still go to set up the transmission cross member. I've got the tranny sitting on an E30 auto bushing right now just to hold it in place. I've got to put the exhaust heat shielding in place, then I can build my exhaust.
I've got some pictures from this weekend, but I have to upload them later today and put them here.

    M52 rods with M50TU pistons.

Don't worry, I've been working on it and everyone will get to see the progress tomorrow.

'Nother update. (tired of watching LSU fuck up)

I've been working on a lot of little things lately. I finished up the coolant system. Finished the oil cooling system. Put new Euro trim on along with my IS lip. Put the carpet back in the car. The hood is back on. I've got the wiring harness almost complete. I went through and labeled all of the wires on the ECU side and cut the ECU plug off of the harness in preparation of the standalone. I grabbed a pair of knock sensors and the plug/wiring that goes all the way to the ECU (since it is a shielded wire) off of a motor and put it on the side of the block. I've just been doing a lot of tidying up of the entire project. Also, the suspension has settled a little more even though I still have over 150 lbs of stuff to put back on the car (mainly at the front of the car).

Enough of the explanation, here are the pictures.

Oh, and for anyone who has been itching for an update on this, here it is.

It's been hard to get time in to work on little projects like that. I expect to make a few more in the next few weeks since the overall consensus is that it would be better to do the 2 gauges with the spare vent instead of the 4 and no vents.

Also, that gauge panel is up to the first person who PM's me wanting it. I would like to get 100 shipped for it.

hey man, count me in for on of those 2 gauge pods. on the house of course, or i might just have to 5 finger discount it from your car one day when your not looking. I looked at work and they got oil pressure and water temp gauges for 50 a piece. Decent looking, the same style as winfred's air fuel ratio gauge i might pick um up if i feeling like not being a broke dick. haha

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I tried to angle the gauge holders as best as I could and when I test fitted them in a spare console, I noticed the console is angled towards the driver, that plus the angle that I had the holders at, equals perfect angle for viewing.

Anyone interested in a vent gauge holder?
