The flip side: Why would you want an ill-fitting roll cage?

Have you ever bent a roll bar yourself before??

It won't do what you need it to with the build you're claiming.

S14 guru, John uses MAXX with his build that is easily putting out 320+hp and he knows waaaaaaaay more than you or your dad ever will. As long as you have the correct MS chip for proper timing and spark with respect to the hardware youre running, MAXX is nothing more than fuel control.

If youre going to be an ass at least know what youre talking about.

It won't do what you need it to with the build you're claiming. But hey, just like you half-assed the rollbar bending, and the bar isn't even close to being tight to the chassis, half ass the engine management and let me know when you're ready to sell the blown engine.
I know that the maxx piggyback isnt the best way to go. But its highly developed and i can get alot of techinical support for it, which is why i went with it. This is my first built motor, i am doing and i wanted an engine managment that i would have alot of support for. I know of quite a few Maxx systems that are used on several MS built motor. Once the car is running i will change the management system, but im looking to get the car running sooner rather then latter and this was they simplest ECU system.

As for the cage. I know its not perfict, but thats the way it is and im working with it.

Meh, id take a 2.5 S14 over most of the s/m 5X swaps... if cost was not an object.

I do agree, the s14 is not a cheap motor to build. That is something i have known since the start of this build. But i want to keep it DTM original. I know guy that are spending upwards of 40k on a MS replica s14 motor, pankle ti rods DTM blocks and cranks. All brand new from the dealer. IM not going to be one of them. I do not want to spend over 10k on the s14. Yes i know it would be anywear near the power of an ls1. But theres just something about the noise an s14 with a carbon airbox that does it for me. the only other motors i would swap in is m3 v8 or an s62.
