Good new for those of you looking for a real Alpina gauge. There is a guy out of Germany working on a fantastic looking gauge. It will be customizable with different inserts depending on what you want to display, and most importantly, day-light readable unlike some other generic vent gauges.

I'll post up more information as the project develops. As you can see, it's just about finished.







I really like this design, it offers the best day-time readability, unlike below.

I have an idea....Lets do something with the Si lights. The little bar graph of LED's that is suppose to tell you when to change your oil. I don't use mine - I keep track of my own oil changes - so their are kinda silly/useless part of the dash. Let's put them to a better use.

Talking the cluster apart is super simple - and kinda fun. Everything inside the cluster just fits together, and you can't really mess anything up. So this should be really easy - if you can use a screwdriver, this project is for you.



The Si lights are on it's own circuit board, they are nothing more than a few LED's on a circuit board that works on it's own. You can remove the board, and it doesn't affect anything else.



It's super simple to remove, just lift it up off the pins.

So the Si light board is out - I'll desolder it, take some measurements, and make a new replacement board
