Cool, thanks. But that is one of those things where I really don't know what I am doing. How do you choose between regular, 2nd, 3rd or 4th oversize? You don't need to answer that... it is a bit off topic and I could search around for the answer.

bore increase of ten thousands usually bumps up to the next oversize...

Block has been cleaned and honed :)

Going to have them redo the hone because the pistons are 84.480mm.

Stay tuned! Will have some more post worthy updates next weekend :)

Let me know if these images are too large, I'm viewing this shit on a 22" Widescreen so I have no idea!

I think its going to be a traditional silver/grey. The valve cover is going to be black...I like the simple look.

so you sourced a few m52 internals for the m50 block? are these all direct fitment? our were your piston housings to small?

Haha, i know how you feel dude. I get home like every other weekend when school is on. I just got off spring break and was bustin ass hard core style, im thankful i got a week to play with the money pit.

Im excited to see what it makes when your done! Its going to be a pretty stompin little car. :)

Bergie... m50 and m52 have same bore, just the stroke is longer on the m52. They essentially have the same block minus a few obd1/2 specific things afaik.

Turns out theres a whole 2.8 block at my parts place.... youve got me thinking...

Haha indeed...working 5 days a week and going to school part time kicks my ass. My form of relaxation is going to the garage and working on this thing :)

For the post above, So Live pretty much hit the nail on the head.

The M52 has a longer stroke, which should net a few ponies and torque from low-to mid-range.

I'm also going to get some work done to the head...hopefully that will be next week :)

Oh and grab the M52 stuff man, mo powa!!!

So I picked up my head from the OTHER machine shop!

Had them do a 3 angle valve job and clean it up :)

I know man...I was shocked too!

I gotta ask him what color he painted it because I want the block in the same exact color!

Oh...and it cost me $250 for the hole deal.

Did they paint the combustion chambers too? For Some reason, the shop that rebuild my cylinder head did, but it burned off pretty damn quickly.

                                Nice project, looks like fun.
