Sorry - flu has been running rampant through my house the last few weeks.
Good news - I have the parts I was missing (CABs, missing Bilstein gland nut) and can get down to some serious work.
Bad news - I wont be able to get to it for a few weeks due to my schedule - have a big trial coming up and I need to focus on that.
Look for updates sometime after the 17th of this month.
And JP, I will not be at RA. :-(
First event will be MidOhio in April.Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3

Hmm . . .
But if I dont work, I have no $$ for racing, you see. Sucks being a grown up.
And despite a three week old email saying my exhaust was soon on its way - I still dont have that either. (Though I have a suitable alternative to use in the interim).Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3

Car collection?
Most of those are gone.
I have the e34 Touring, the Silver Spec Car and that is really it. I hold title to a 1990 325i that is a shell and nothing more - so it really doesn't count.
More to the point, I have a son two years from college, a daughter needing braces soon, and another daughter who is pretty damn good at an expensive sport (golf). (Won the Cincinnati Golf Assn. Youth tour for her age group last year). Never mind my wife who I have to keep in expensive purses and shoes. :-PCurrent Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3

I got some things done today - suspension bits installed.
Waiting for a crank scraper to be delivered and then the motor will be done and put into the car with the new clutch, mounts, etc etc.
At this painful pace, I will still put my car on the track well before Charlie.Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3

Cut out of work early today - got the old engine out, removed the oil pan and a few sundry items needed for the new one - got them installed on the new engine, along with the crank scraper (which needed a little massaging for clearance).
Trans is also out, and the next steps are: rebuild shifter linkage and install new shorter shifter, install the flywheel, clutch and trans on the new engine and get those installed in the car.
Once that is done, I will DRIVE the car onto the lift, and get the suspension finished and install the spec exhaust (which is FINALLY SUPPOSED TO BE COMING TO ME!!!!), and the car will be fully functional.
May 17-18 is the day sticky rubber hits the road course.
All CHarlie had to do was swap in an engine - and I am still going to beat him!!!!!Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3
