My 2.8 Build - Yay 4 Towrak!! (Pics Inside)

So after much deliberation I've decided to go with a 2.8l build to replace my very tired stock M20B25 with 300,000+ miles.

I was originally going for a 2.7l build until I got a killer deal on a M52B28 motor at the local euro yard for $100. The head was damaged but everything else was good. After selling off everything except the crank I actually had a little extra cash to put back into the build.

This build consists of the following parts:

    M20B25 Pistons (with shaved skirts)
M52B28 Crank Shaft - 0.25in (6mm) shaved off the counterweights, rebalanced and polished
    M20B27 eta 130mm Rods
New Piston Rings, Rod and Main Bearings
M20B25 Block - Hot Tanked and Honed
Custom spacer for M52B28 crank (to seal w/ M20B25 front crank seal)

M20B25 Piston - Shaved Skirt and Polished

Pistons w/ 130mm eta Rods - Before and After Assembly

Installing the Crank Shaft and Main Bearings

Checking New Ring Gaps and Installing the Pistons

    First Piston Installed (perfect!)

    All the Pistons Installed

    Custom Spacer Installed

    Oil Pump Installed.

What main bearings did you use?
Stock M20 or stock for the M52?
            Custom?
Thats a pretty cheap parts list from what you listed for a sick rebuild!

I hope you replaced those Rod Bolts, they are torque to yield and need to be replaced

It's looking good Robert, those pistons look way better then the first set. Your making me have thoughts of putting together this H27 replica engine I've been gathering parts for
