    da project

it started life as a 91 318is to replace my dearly departed 90 325is that was my long term runner of 94k miles for a total of 216k

i was days away from installing the 2.8 stroker i built when it got squished but enough of the past
it was a running driving 318is prime for molestation that i picked up from auction as a donation (women owner died and someone donated it) for $450 8-)

now it has the m-coupe 5 lug from my old car and the m20b28 i never got the chance to install

yea i know it's a little tall but our roads suck and i prefer function over form, less changing of oil pans and buying of lip spoilers that way, anyway with a bath and a polish it shines decent too

    heres some various shots

    extrude honed intake

    13# 323 flywheel

bobbed counterweights on the m52b28 crank to clear the short skirt I pistons, BAS 280* cam 10.6mm lift 110* separation, it's a little lumpy at idle

balanced the pistons and rods to with in 1/10th of a gram across the set, the pistons were 2.5 grams off and the rods were 4 grams off from light to heavy

    racetech studs top and bottom

    built a cam sensor

i have a megasquirt ready to install and after that i am going to start building the bracket to make use of the pulley i built

i have a paxton ready to install as soon as i get the bracket built and the plumbing ready, i plan to run a intercooler but haven't bought one yet as i haven't gotten as far as screwing with pipe routing to figure out what style i am going to use yet

Sweet project, but paint those rims black and you will be 10,000X happier. Great ingenuity on the motor work nevertheless. With those brakes it must stop on a dime :)

                        hehehe

plumbing is going to suck more then bracketry by a long shot, plumbing would be easy if i wasn't going to intercool it, the output pretty much points right at the throttle body

I see no a/c compressor. Have you thought about putting the charger in the a/c spot?

Sweet car and build dude! Nice job on the cam sensor too!

ac is alive and well now and will remain that way, it sucks down here in the summer besides the paxton is huge i doubt it would fit there, i have seen a sn series paxton on a e30 before in pictures so it's possible and i like the road less traveled
