    My 1 year e30 project

Well, I would like to begin and first say that I full enjoy reading and seeing everyone's project builds. This thread will be wordie at first, but believe me there are pictures, and the story is important. Don't be fooled by my noobie status!

(pictures shown or day I picked her up)

July of 07, being a BMW driver I got this crazy idea of purchasing an e30 (wanted one bad when I was in high school) and without hesitation drive her to Myrtle Beach for vacation and begin a steady/slow project to keep me busy after work. And that I did!

    (the drive to MB)

I instantly feel in love with everything about the car and my vacation wouldn't have been the same without it. But a few weeks after vacation, I was parked in New York and a nice large moving truck completely nailed my parked car. Now, the good thing was the driver did give me money for what the "car was worth" but it was totaled. (minus the words that came out of my mouth) Without going threw insurance and knowing this project must live on, I immediately began the new project.

    (towed to client's shop)

Full Restoration and Upgrades. I towed it to my client's autobody and dropped her off for a complete overhaul. During this process, which has been 7 months of side work for him getting her done... I have met some great people that have completely brought not only this forum, but knowledge of this chassis and sourcing of parts. (I will attach a garage list after this)

While searching for strut bars for the suspension, I won a bid for a set off of ebay to a local seller in NJ. I am sure everyone on this board/forum is aware of:

ID Name: ZM Blue Devil (massive props)

Instantly hit it off and have been friends since, working on cars and building this project together. During searching of parts I have meet a tight nit of friends and their rides. From e30 track cars, e30 m, a sick xi and everyone has great input and knowledge. The only thing lacking is my e30, driving up in my Dinan X5 is great, but not really the groups cup of coffee.

So today marks the day of almost a full year of this project and I will let the pictures explain the rest. Thanks again to ZM Blue Devil, (current project is Nina a euro vert) and others (not sure of your member names) and I am looking forward to riding the streets of Jerz with you all next week. It will be riding on the BBS Ra's this Wednesday during pick-up! Enjoy!

(just been painted, still needs compounding/wet sanding)

I will post parts list and some photos shortly or tomorrow morning.

Yeah, it has been weird calling you my E30 buddy when there has been no E30 in sight.

Good times though, Glad it's nearing its end and you'll finally get to enjoy her.

Well I am still waiting for the autobody guy to give me the name of the longest girl he dated, once he remembers cause he does have "women" that will be the name of this e30. He has had it for months!

what's with you and these car names? :D You have so many women around you, I don't know how you don't get confused trying to remember their names... LOL

great project ! Just one thought - with so much work done, should've swapped for plastic or Euro bumpers.
PS I saw your BBS - they look sweet !

Hey Vlad! I have heard tons about ya and you are very close to me... can't wait to see your ride.

As far as the plastic or euro bumper swap, I have been searching for euros and will do them when everything comes together on that front, but I actually don't mind the DBs. I know everyone, I said it. Its in plain text too. When I go to get the suspension installed, I will tuck them a tad.

                      Thanks for checking the thread.
