    **UPDATE**

Took it to my mechanic today and got him to look at it. Found out that my gas tank is rotting and has a whole in it spreading fumes and leaks out a cup when I fill it up to full.

Going to get my alignment fixed and a tune up tomorrow. Keep you posted!

Also looking for a tank, iS lip, exhaust, springs and shocks. Let me know what you got!

      **UPDATE**

Alignment fixed and still looking for parts. Pic of the tank to be included tomorrow. I'm really pissed off right now! I got to pay tons of labor to put in a new tank ARG! Sorry for the vent, but this dumb ass gas tank is getting to me. I had some parts lined up to buy and this tank is just going to cost me some dough. PISSING ME OFF! lol

Well if you and your pops use a claw hammer for body work, I'm sure you could save some coin like all the e30 guys and replace it yourselves.

We planned on doing that, but my dad's leaving on vacation tomorrow. And I need my car to go to work. So the sooner the better.

I guess you didn't get the underlying message in my last post. Hammer on my man, hammer on.

                  **UPDATE**

So talked to my mechanic today. Found out that the dude who owned it before me cranked down some spark plugs and got them stuck. He tried pulling them out and turns out he has to take the head off to get to them. He's going to put some new gaskets in while he's there. We also found out that he didn't put all the transmission bolts in, and the ones he did put in were wrong. Exhaust was put on horribly, but has stainless steel headers. Didn't check for any brand will soon though.

I'm hopefully going to work on it with him as I'm semi-new with working on cars. Also wanted to say that this forum is full of good info and hope to stay for a while!

                  Thanks guys!

Keep up the good work, keep doing it right and she will treat you well. Had the same problem with the gas tank on a previous e30. A bitch to replace, do it while you are doing the rear suspension and exhaust(if you need to change) since you will need to drop the rear end to get the tank out.

Did the hood hinge break, or come off? Is that where the warped and gashed hood came from?
'89 "is" = M technic II build mode.

Yeah, when the guy selling it was closing the hood, the bolt in the hinge broke and the whole hinge system just gashed through the hood. Then he closed it all the way cause he thought we weren't going to buy it, so the hood warped. We basically saved this e30 cause he said he's just going to throw it in his back yard and not sell it anymore. I was like ! Gotta save this car!

                          **UPDATE**

Got my Rieger Lip today and a hood from a very nice guy for free. It's an orange color, but is only going to go on when I paint my car in the end. It's free of any filler and dents. It's just going to be stored in the mean time. Pics tomorrow since my camera is at my uncles.
