So talked to my mechanic today. Found out that the dude who owned it before me cranked down some spark plugs and got them stuck. He tried pulling them out and turns out he has to take the head off to get to them. He's going to put some new gaskets in while he's there. We also found out that he didn't put all the transmission bolts in, and the ones he did put in were wrong. Exhaust was put on horribly, but has stainless steel headers. Didn't check for any brand will soon though.
I'm hopefully going to work on it with him as I'm semi-new with working on cars. Also wanted to say that this forum is full of good info and hope to stay for a while!
Thanks guys!
The labor charges for the stuff you've had/are going to have done is well in excess of the value of the car...Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.

So what if the labor costs exceed the cost of the car, if he likes the car go for it. For most of the shitboxes on here, a new set of tires and a full tank of gas is going to exceed blue book. That's not what this game is about.Matt

Agreed! I don't like to look at the blue book on mine. It's a hobby, not an investment. Keep at it if it makes you happy!
