Thanks for the kind words man.

The carpet isn't quite black, but it is the closest that I have seen stock. It came out of '83 carbongrau metallic 318i, as did the vinyl seats. As a strange aside, the carpet out of the '83 was much thicker and of much higher quality than the 91.

The springs are made by Spax, I cleaned them all up, and on one I could barely make out the logo. They are old as hell though, I think that all of their springs are red now.

I put them there.;) They are also out of my old 318i. For anyone that wants to do this, you DO need the earlier window glass. The bottom of the glass and brackets are a completely different shape.

Nice :) I want to do the same with my two cars, basically take the power windows/glass from the 89 and swap with manual in my 84. But, the 84 does not have any wiring for the power windows in the doors or under the front console... So I have no idea how I would do this.....

Yeah, I'm not to sure how it would work the other way. Power to manual is gravy though. It was not as big of a weight savings as I would have hoped, but every little bit helps. It is also one less thing to go wrong.

Been a bit busy lately with life etc., but finally some meager progress has been made.

It's off of the jackstands!!!!......only temporary though. My garage had turned into such a shithole that every time I went out there, half of my time was spent moving shit out of the way and looking for tools that were lost in the detritus. I got the suspension buttoned up, threw on me old junk wheels, and pushed it outside.

Yes, there was a car in there too.

The stance is a bit off because of the mismatched balloon tires.

man, those tires are really sucked in...

There is still a ton to do, but progress is progress. Life should be settling to a more normal pace now and I should be able to knock out the rest of the work fairly quickly.

Get on that shit man. I tried some of that telepathy stuff I had heard about, but it is a scam. The only way it's going to happen is if you get out there and do it.

WOOT!!! Finished painting my wheels this evening. They came out a little darker than I had hoped (I was going for a slightly darker shade than stock), but I am pleased with the final product. I think that they will work well with the calypso, and more importantly, I can't be arsed into doing it again for such a small change in color. Here are the pictars, I don't think the pics do them justice. They have a good amount of flake in the paint and the flash just makes them look dull and gray. In real life they have a nice deep gloss.

I didn't paint the area around the lugs black like Alpina did because I think that it makes the wheels look like they are supposed to have center caps. Sorry for the doodoo quality pics.

Thanks man, painting between all of the spokes was a nut ache. I can't wait for the paint to fully cure so that I can mount up the Yokies to see how the car sits, and how well the colors play together. I'm gonna give the wheels a week before they see tires just to be doubly sure. I am ordering the clutch tomarrow and the last few bits and bobs that I need to get this turd back on the road. Aside from the clutch and a few loose ends, I just need to trow the smiles in it and it will be done. It feels like a really long time since I have driven it.

...oh, and yes, analog clocks do rock your ass....
