I decided when i move out of WI, it'll be to CA. Not dealing with winter BS any more.

Parts have started to roll in. Really hating the fact it's so cold out, so progress has been s l o w.

    From the top to right:
-carpet dash pad to cover cracks
-washer tank celaned, pump from junk yard
    -airbox and headlight panels cleaned
    -misc gaskets, mounts, belts
-US ellips that will be smoked, lenses polished, and 5k HID's

Second heat of parts due to come in next week. I'll be firing up the torpedo heater and getting some work done this and next weekend.

EDIT: Don't comment on the fram oil filter. I don't believe the hype (i didn't pick it out anyways, it came in a package of other misc parts)

Nice progress...so what procedure do you plan on using for the headlights?

For smoking them? I was going to follow Stuck's DIY that's on e30tech. I may add city lights as well. We'll see about that, though.

Finished installing newer radiator and took it for a drive. Brakes needed work badly so i took care of that yest/today.

Pads dug themselves a groove into the rotors. I had to compress the piston to get the caliper off.

New rotors and pads. (great deal on the rotors from partsgeek BTW)

Anyone know why my wipers go to the up position when off????

And a shot of my best friend during these sub 10 degree nights.

Should be ready for DD duty next week.

Yeah, i'll be selling both E30's before moving. Not bringing any rust across the country.

Had the camera in the garage, so i documented the Blower Motor Resistor Replacement.

First, (2) phillips screws holding on the bracket here for the Harness.

                  (2) 8mm nuts holding on this harness bracket

Then (4) 7mm screws, and the panel comes off.

There is a plastic cover that you need to take off. Clip that thin piece of plastic that connects the two ends, and unclip the harness.

The, rotate the plastic ties off to the sides and pull the cover off. It takes some finess, but the cover bends just enough to pull it.

I don't have a good pic of it, but the resistor is right in the middle of the blower motor, clipped to the case towards the bottom. I found it easiest to just pull it with pliers.

                  New one

                  Clipped back in.

                  Install is reverse.

I also removed the gong, the remanats of the factory radar detector, and installed a set of oem rubber floormats.

Haven't posted anything in a while. Mainly because I decided not to put the time/money into it like i had originally planned.

After it's first DD duty, i filled it up at the gas station, and immediately started leaking. It was then, as i was watching 8 gallons of gas gush out, that this is not a keeper. It was one thing after another, and this sealed its fate.

So, i've been making every-other-day trips to the gas station, for 2 gallons at a time, and slowly working on the other E30. Hope to start parting this one out at the end of the month.

That being said, this is it for this thread. Thanks for looking!

the leak is most likely on the top near the filler holes. its not too hard to fix.

i have some pics on my home puter if you would like to see them. It takes an afternoon, little more when its cold out, to drop the tank. Clean the area and find JB Weld thats resistant to gas. Plug it up and it will be fine.

I think that is exactly where it is leaking from.

To be honest, It's not worth my afternoon, when i can spend one more weekend fixing my other one, and get to parting this one out. Thanks for the tip though. In any other circumstance, it would've motivated me to do the repair.
