The worst part of bump steer isn't what happens when both wheels on an axle hit a bump at the same time (that will just scrub your tires), it's what happens when one wheel sees a bump or you get body roll. The car will literally steer itself the more it rolls, if you are on the highway this is downright scary and makes for very unstable behavior. Hitting undulations with one wheel will jerk the steering around as well, as seen in the second vid.And again, I don't know if you actually thought about it at all,
but here is a vid of what bump steer is. See what's happening?
Now the second vid is bump steer in action on the freeway.
Imagine taking some nice canyon roads, and that
happening in a turn. Honestly keep this in mind!
