i scored an awesome deal on some hardware from a thread on m42club. $1200 shipped for a set of dbilas ITBs and an alpha-N 2000 piggyback. at that price i pretty much got a deep discount on the ITBs and scored the computer for free.
got a wild hair up my ass to do the alpha-N yesterday. i needed this nice k&n to go with it- turned out to have a threaded boss with a few different adapters, one of which is perfect for the IAT sensor i needed to use.
as you might imagine throttle response is slightly better. plugs say i'm lean, might either need to go to 21lb injectors or a 3.5bar FPR. i am leaning towards the latter because i've already spent the $160 on a set of 24lb'ers to be used later when i need even more fuel.
still need to clean up the wiring in the glovebox and put the upper cover back on.past:

me too... but they're the last step in the drivetrain plan. have other ground to cover first. but i had the money and couldn't pass up the deal so now the ITB setup is the incentive i have to execute on everything else.past:

as i mentioned after doing the alpha-N, the car was running a little lean... either it was breathing significantly more without the AFM in the way, or the signal resulting from the alpha-N's meddling wasn't quite rich enough.
so i picked up a set of 24lb/hr injectors from VAC (i bought the wrong kind originally) and swapped those in... apparently that was exactly what the car needed.
i can't give an impression of any of them separately, but:
CAI + Alpha-N + COP + moar fuel = win :D
the car desperately needs shorter gearing (the 4.10S in it now is actually taller than the stock small-case from an m42 vert), a grabbier clutch, and a lightweight flywheel now.past:

still haven't done lighter flywheel yet. definitely a priority now, though.
combined with the alpha-N & new injectors there is definitely more pull up top, and power doesn't fall off after 6K like it used to.
it's still not fast, and having no power steering is a pain at low speeds, but it just seems to come together and all make sense when it's being flogged.past:
