it's still not fast, and having no power steering is a pain at low speeds, but it just seems to come together and all make sense when it's being flogged.
Dang, Im looking for reasons to keep the m42.

good call. i remember once i saw an m42 guy used the shroud and e-fan from an e36 4-banger, i'll have to look that up. robert @ e30motorwerks got rid of the mess under the intake and the TB heater while i was overseas earlier this year, which made installing this stuff quite a bit less complicated.

                  Turbo it...

To the OP, awesome resto/buildup. ITB's/alpha N are the hotness. Enjoy ringing the neck out of the m42... I know I do especially with 9psi shoved down its throat.

yeah, i watched danny's whole saga during my deployment; he started on the turbo build while i was outbound and was already on to his 325i when i got back. but i'm glad to see the setup being used on another m42.

in any case, the nice thing about the dbilas' is that they're very reversible... the only thing i had to change to install them was replacing one of the fuel hardlines with rubber.

the straight-thru exhaust on the car is pretty loud, but for some reason i've only gotten a look from a cop about it once. have been lucky enough to not get pulled over since i've been home. when i had my VR6 with a similar setup... once a month, usually.
