Project Status update: a few pictures on this one guys. But I installed a Turner Chip and all I have to say is BALLER, it really opens up the stock M42 and it runs great. More power, but really no hesitation it just pulls. Best mod I have do to date.

Also, a few months back my car was broken into in Newark... figures right. Anyway the carved like a 2 inch hole in the door skin and it was toast. Gutenparts.com hooked me up with two matching 91' doors and I made the switch. FTW!

Doing the other door tonight because the new doors have power door locks which will work when I install the alarm system... LOOKING FORWARD TO IT, because manual locks stink, also going to clean her up tonight.

Awesome daily you've got! I have been thinking of picking up a 318is as a daily and retiring the e30 to summer duties as well. Does the m42 feel a lot more underpowered than your m20?

As far as the difference between the M42/M20...
if you want a go cart, not moving unless your at 4500+ commuter then the 318is is you best bet; its great as a daily and that is what I use it for. I recommend the Turner Chip because it gives it a more smoother clean in the rpm field and great pull with it, just feels more powerful.

There is a difference between my 325is and my 318is... torque is massively missing in the 318is, but with its peppiness it is fun to drive. You just want to open it up all the time and drive in the 4k+ rpm range. Where as my M20 325is just has pull as it feels all the time, and pulls hard with my MarkD Chip and 19lb injectors... there really is no comparison.

But I wouldn't trade the 318 for anything, its a great daily and with the suspension done, it is a street worthy go-cart that always makes me smile, plus good gas mileage!

looks good nunz.. now just cut open a hole in the roof with a reciprocating saw and install a universal sunroof to finish her off :)

Thanks Kishg... haven't seen you in a minute. Heading to Guten tomorrow? I was there today and finished installing seats, cleaned them too. Plus the exterior which L was help on a lot.

As far as the sunroof... nothing is better then the slab top, and black headliner at that!!! Jealous??? lol
