Trust me, I have tried convincing my wife countless times that we need to live in one where the 1st floor is garage and the upper floors are living areas.

I just get glared out whenever I bring it up followed shortly with an eye roll.

It's too bad this one is 4 hours away!

        Lots of credit dude.
Painting a whole car is alot bigger project than most people think.
Looks you guys are doing a good job.
Hopefully you've got your blocking hands on. Enough primer and blocking and it'll come out nice and straight. White hides alot too.
The painter at my work has an AMX as well.

        I think they're bitchin.

Have fun looks liek you've got alot of good help.
        Family projects FTW
And your dads porsche is AMAZING.

This build thread is awesome. Major props to your wife for being such a trooper.

Can't wait to see this thing done.

I too have missed this thread until today, but you're making me want to go out to the garage right now and do SOMETHING to my car. This is what's great about this forum. I appreciate the level of detailed work you're doing. My wife helps me out all the time too and she has learned to follow directions well. I'm a lucky guy.

BTW, where did you purchase the small nylon pry bars for removing the trim? I like.

BavAuto or Pelican I think. I think you can get them at Harbor Freight pretty cheap too. 15 bucks maybe? I'd have to look at one of the receipts buried in the workbench never to be found again so I have no idea how much I've spent so far.

I've got a good one. She was insistent on helping this past weekend and I have to say she was a huge help. We would have had much longer days without her. I have a feeling she's looking forward to seeing it finished just as much as me. I know she wants to try some track days after driving at the Nurburgring.

I always preferred the Javelins because they looked more proportioned but if you get one right and lowered nice, AMX's can look pretty sweet. My uncle was bummed when he saw 245's on my car. he tried on the AMX but they rubbed so he went to 225's. I really need to take some pictures of the interior because he did some really neat stuff with zebrawood i believe on the dash and center console (Gauge cluster). I was shocked when i didn't see them on the cameras when i downloaded pictures.

The porsche is pretty cool though. Dad put a lot of time in it and it's supposed to make a trip to colorado for an event in July. He just bought a bmw 2002ti i believe. 1974. I know he's read Blunt's thread on his M2 and loves that car. I tried to convince him to drop in an S14 but i think he's just going for a built M10. I'm looking forward to that car as I get first refusal if he ever decides to get rid of it. That will be the next one in the barn later this year.

Thanks, found them--$29.95 for the set from Bav Auto. $4.99 for similar set from Harbor Freight.

Don't want this to become the AMX thread, but I was up in Barrington looking at an M3 yesterday and saw these for sale...

Saw them this weekend at Harbor Freight and they are the exact same tool. Their sidewalk sale did much damage to my bank account, but at least I got some new toys. It was like christmas in june.
