blew a rocker arm while beating the b34 around a few weeks ago, drove it home about 10 miles and it didnt skip a beat, even idled at 711 for 10, 15 minutes ;)

the m30 is a beast and i can't wait to see this go either way, to see you slide on 5 cylinders will shut those 24v guys up for good ;)

Erick - what a blow :( This is why I couldn't keep my b35 intact and decided to take it all apart and replace all the crap in it. Time to drop the b35 and go M62 ;) LOL

Yeah, we're going to see what happens. Regardless we kept working on the car.... mainly ignoring the motor this time and letting the mystery oil try to work some magic to see if we can get that compression bumped back up tomorrow.

We got the cage in, harness & seat also in. Also got the hood pins installed.

Not a crap load of progress, but not a lot is needed. It's just been a slow day in lieu of the crappy news.

Hey guys, remember this? It's post #2 on this thread.

    #1 - 120
    #2 - 120
    #3 - 130
    #4 - 130
    #5 - 125
    #6 - 125

This was on a dead cold motor with a weak battery, so the cranking started losing strength on cylinders 4-6.
Yeah sweet, so we solve all the vacuum leaks and get the car to idle. It's running on 5 cylinders. Let's check which cylinder it is by unplugging spark plug hoses.

#6 makes no difference when we unplug it, but it gets spark. Hmmm

    Compression test #6.... 55psi

    FML.

The shop did some voodoo on the motor with mystery oil and told me to not touch the motor for 24 hrs and re-do the compression test tomorrow.

Lets see if I'll be running in 5 or 6 cylinders at D1. If it's on 5, I'm hooking up the 125 shot and lets put this M30 tank reputation to the test.

    D1-DAY MINUS 3

Started off good. With the car running from yesterday, today I went after two FPRs since the one on the car was leaking massive fuel, plus brake booster check valve, and Pat Philpot just had an entire B35 exhaust system about to go to the garbage, just what I needed!!

All spent thus far today was $1 (to get in the junkyard for parts)

Gotta say I'm pretty happy. Now quick lunch break @ the crib (ramen diet for D1), buy a few things at the auto parts store (including some wack ass hood pins that D1 is requiring me to have) and back to the shop.

First task is to tackle shortening the driveshaft. Then later tonight we'll do the exhaust.

And I think that's actually pretty much it. The leftovers are cage, interior, body kit.... and an alignment. I gotta say I'm pretty surprised/happy.

Just attaching a quick picture. This roof rack already paid for itself many many times. Who needs a pick up truck now? :p
