Coffeezilla is great on YT. He has me convinced that crypto is nothing but a massive, unregulated, scam.
Still holding - haven't sold anything. Brought another Bitcoin when it bottomed out at $16k. Also learned how to use Python to make my own regression charts of the price. With my portfolio being where it is right now, I can buy a whole collector condition E30 M3 (and possibly several driver-condition ones). Problem is, I can't drive a manual

Are you still holding it or finally sold anything? The price is quite good at the moment.

I have a buddy who works for a Japanese bank, and their leadership team tasked him to look at Bitcoin and give them a deep dive on it. Net: He agrees 100% with your statement above

My wife and I have this thing where we'll throw $5K at something risky if we feel like it will pop. We don't have gobs of $$, so we don't do that a lot, but if we feel strongly enough, we figure it out. It has worked out really well for us. In 2016 or 2017, based on a after-several-drinks rant on the subject from my friend in Japan, the complexity of actually getting some and my general rule of not investing in something I don't understand, I decided not to buy any. It would be worth big $$$ today - over a half-million bucks.

I feel stupid, but not sure I would do it differently. I still don't own any.

All that said, losing the $5K wouldn't have changed a thing in my life, but if I had $500-$600K more in realizable money, it's entirely possible my 55-yo ass would be retiring very soon instead of ~4-5 years from now.

It’s wild how many of us could’ve been dailying M3s if we’d just pulled the trigger back in the day instead of overthinking it. I’m still kicking myself for not grabbing a few coins when they were cheap, but I guess that's just how the game goes.

I had a few hundred in when it was still 9k and I got out at 11k and I've been kicking myself ever since. Hindsight is 20/20 though. I made a couple bucks on what was essentially a gamble so its all good.
