Does full coverage comprehensive insurance cover flood?

My audi got flooded. 5 inched of water inside the car - smoke billowing out of the tailpipe, ect ect. It won't start - it's stranded 9 houses away from my home.

I have full coverage insurance - is there any chance im not covered?

Read the policy, really varies from company to company and state. Call 'em.

Ok great. I'm covered with no deductible.

What are the chances this thing is totalled?

Water in the car - no start - smoke out the tailpipe.

Will the engine crank or turn over? if not I would say its totalled.

It cranks - but no start. If it starts it idles at like 100 RPM, smokes then dies.

take the intake boot off and see how much water is in there. Also check the filter and change the oil.

It's also probably noteworthy that it was knocking and the tranny doesn't like to shift. Time for a new car I guess.

Sounds to me like it would be totalled, but your insurance company is who you need to ask.

I checked the oil and it's like sandy clay. I'd say it's done. Kind of a blessing, really...
