Yea we have it here, it's pretty weak, but unless you download insane amounts of torrents, you're all gravy.

In reality if you don't download any torrents or music, you use like 2gb's of bandwidth MAX!!

My ISP has a 100gb cap on download only no upload cap, if you go over, you get a friendly reminder, second time you get a warning, third time they suspend your service till you call them and then 4th they suspend your service for a month.

This will be the new thing to deal with as the RIAA takes it to the ISP's instead of the little guy at the end of the line doing the D/Ling. It's gonna afect us all though. Start charging now, then when heavy volume services continue to sprout up (e.g. NetflixOD, Streaming Television media, etc)

I think the pay-per-use plans are highly counterproductive given the goals of most technology companies. The entire "cloud computing" idea is basically ruined by plans like this; who wants to pay to access their files and programs?!

I busted it in january. 12GB(I think) came with an extra 50$ bill

I think that bandwidth limits are pretty natural because it does cost the provider money to provide infrastructure and connectivity for high bandwidth usage. They could get away with unlimited until the point where enough people are online and enough people are downloading large items like TV programs, movies, and music that it starts forcing them to add more infrastructure, more servers and paying more to their providers for the bandwidth.

It will ebb and flow with technology. At some point in the future, compression will be good enough and enough infrastructure is in place where you will see unlimited usage come back. Or as soon as one competing provider offers it, then another one will.

The used to charge you for how much time you spent online. Then they started offering unlimited time for slightly more. Then everybody offered it. Now it's standard. Things change depending on business.
