we used to fight and not get along until relatively recently. i think we both see we're cut from the same fabric and have similar eccentric personalities. and so we get along with each other better than anyone else.
this thread reminds me of the movie dead ringers.

How many of you have a cool relationship with your brother?

My relationship with my older brothers is cool as fuck, I get all the perks of being the little brother.
I got both of 'em into e30s and I talk to them on the daily at least once but someone mentioned it earlier, it is better living separate lives 'cause the older brother card is always ready to be pulled when you live with siblings...

I've never really had any issues with either of my brothers. I'm 18, my brother David is turning 21 and my other brother Mike is 22. Both are in the military, I'm finishing up my senior year in HS. I've got to say, it's great being able to talk to them about anything. Even though they're in a different state, and different countries at times..they're normally (within reason) just a phone call away. Mike comes home from the Marines next friday since his 4 years are up. I CANNOT wait to hangout with him. David is in the USAF and he is going to be in for 20+ years. I use to take the whole, them being home for granted..but it's a quick reality check when they actually leave. I wish they never left, but they've done fantastic things with their lives. Boyyy do I sure miss them. Older brothers FTW!

We both have our own lives and group of friends, it seems to work better that way. Have you brought it up to him? Maybe he just doesn't realize whats happening.
Good luck

growing up when we both lived in the same house, i did not get along with my younger brother at all. we fought constantly and i could never have him hang around me, because if my friends said something about my personal life around him, he'd run straight to my parents and tell them.
now that hes gotten older and im out of the house, weve gotten alot closer. its nice, i like it. i think the distance makes you appreciate having a sibling more.

i have personally had a on and off good relationship with my bro. since he moved out its been good up till i was workin for him on his screenprinting company. short version of the story is i was workin for him for free trying to help him save money in the company and he called me cheap and refused to appologize so now we are no longer talking. probly wont last more than a month or so but man, it seems like he brings way to much drama into our brotherly relationship.

Glad to hear you can have a good relashionship with your brother. I'd still recommend you don't loan him money if he ever needs it though.

I only have him as a sibling and he is only one of seven family members I have here in the US. Out of those seven, I only really speak to four. Work and school has me in a daze. The days fly by and blah blah... Friends have their own lives although I do have a couple of really good friends. I just can't conform to this way of life that separates good friends and family.

My oldest brother is the one that got me into cars.. sometimes he's the most 'there' person in my life.. and sometimes it takes me a week to get ahold of him. And my other brother is the reason why I'm still in school and going to spend a year abroad (he went to the UK and I'm going to Germany) and there are times were we're the best of friends and then there are times where we don't talk for weeks.
It's pretty awesome though to have a friend that knows exactly how insane your folks are and stuff like that, but (at least in my family) the age gap can make a pretty big difference. I am extremely thankful, however, for what I have. I have many friends that hardly know their siblings.
also: apologies for any drunk typographical errors.

He and I are very different for sure although time has made me fond of him in many ways. He has also grown into a person who has tasted some of the things life deals us. I love the guy now. More than anything, he's been of age for a while now and been through a few things. Who cooler than your brother who has somewhat experienced some of the same things to hang out with? But he is one of those assholes that don't really answer, don't really respond (respond as in sincerely being in touch). The lack of consideration is high with this fucker! I don't know. Just somewhat of a rant but it kills me. He is, or better yet should be, my best friend....
Someone relate.Tags: None
