Dude, seriously, type that again. That's not even coherent.

The Elise is a 60k mid engined sports car, the Demon/Solstice/sky and such are Miata fighters, not cars 3x that price.

And last I checked, the local dealer up here that carrys elises still has 2007 models on the lot, new. the 08s and 09s are still sitting there as well, untouched.

    Seriously, what?

Someone mentioned hybrid cars - what a great way to mess with peoples minds... They basically give you a car, which is "economic" but still needs gas. And instead of working on a technology which will cancel oil out, they just find one that makes you use less gas.

And then, when you happily buy a Prius and enjoy its mpg, you go to Europe, and find that a 4-person city car powerd with 1,3L turbo diesel engine has better mpg without "spacecraft" technology and is fairly cheap too.

Gas prices are staying high, but families continue to need seats and cargo space. The Ford S-Max, a popular model in Europe, has minivan styling, but nothing's mini about its capabilities. Similar to the Mazda5, the S-Max can seat seven in fuel-sipping style. The S-Max gets a combined 34 mpg and has coupe-like styling similar to BMW's much less practical X6. The S-Max was voted the 2007 European Car of the Year; Ford and eager buyers are hoping it continues to rack up the awards when it hits our shores, likely sometime in 2010.
This made me ROTFL for an hour...

This car looks almost like a minivan, handles like a sedan, has about as much room as a compact car, and sells like shit. 34mpg is not by any means economic in euro terms either...

But unfortunately, your average shit-kickin' Amurrican has been force-fed that "I'm gonna go stimulate the economy buying an American car!" bullshit, that companies like Fiat, Peugeot, and Renault can't sell those cars here.

the funny thing is that many of those companies are buying the american companies, or have at least expressed interest in doing so.
i think fiat will get general motors europe.

what the american car company needs to do ... is to have their own identity. Thats been the underlying problem since the 1980s when the japanese market came in and they try to mimic the japanese car design. Well ofcourse they have alot more problems but they have lost teh american muscle car soul a long time ago. They need to stop making cars that look like euro cars, japanese cars etc.

The demon looks like ass. First view I though of is s2k that has too many burgers.

I always felt safe and was joyfull behind the wheel of the 340 Demon i had :D. And for some reason, It also was on of the better handling older muscle cars that i had too. Don't know why, all it had was the stock 340 suspension with KYB shocks and a set of radial tires.
