    MOVING TO ENGLAND!! (Mildenhall)

Well, its been quite a while since i have been on last...last September to be exact.
Here is an update. I joined the Air Force in December of last year and have been in tech school to become a Crew Chief on the C-130 Combat Talons. I will have orders to England come August and would love to get some input on what there is to do over there. Not only that, but i will be looking to buy another E30 over there (right hand drive, of coarse!!). So i would love some feedback and where to look and everything. If you live over there, drop a line and tell me all about it and as far as cars, where i can find some descent 325is's! lol

Anyway thats what i have been up too!

Cant wait to get home and drive my car again...its been almost 6 months since i have seen her!

buy something like an 90s TVR. there are tons of interesting cars that you could never own in America... so get one while you're there.

Awesome... I used to fly into Mildenhall all the time. It's an Air Force base but other than that it's nice.

Can you pick up a set of euro headers for me?

If you ship a car with you, you are authourized to ship a car back. If you don't the USAF does not ship one back. You have to have one year remaining on your DEROS to ship a car over.

Pick up some thing cheap while you are in Little Rock and bring it with you. But expect to be deployed to Al Udied Qatar in the first two years of being there. Mildenhall is sleepy hollow now that the rescue squadron and the AMC status has been removed.

Lakenheath is 6 miles away they share housing and the commisary and so on. I was in there about a month ago, the Smoke House is now gone! Burned down about 18 months ago :(

You'll find lots of E30's on base, Im sure. I'd ship your own over though, and find euro parts to throw on it...

Get used to a bunch of people in the States asking you to bring them euro parts. :D

I'd say just leave whatever you are driving over here, over there it's likely to get rusty, or get in a collision, or get broken into, or a combination of two or more of those depending on the area you are living in. I'm not sure if public transportation would work well with being on a military base, but it's a great idea and quite popular in Europe from what I understand. If you aren't able to find an E30, something smaller that gets good fuel economy (gas/diesel) would be my recommendation. Let us know what you end up buying, best of luck.

Google Maps says you are 2.5 hours from the Top Gear studios, I'd definitely go there if at all possible (be sure to where a Bush/Cheney shirt :D)

I like all these ideas! haha, i just dont think im gunna send my car out there. I plan on gettin used to a right hand drive and maybe see that i can ship it back even tho it will be pretty hard i assume. but we'll have to see.

As far as an M3, i was lookin at some E36 M3's over there for about 6000 pounds which isnt to bad right? its about 10000 bucks...

Top Gear is the shit and i will make sure of it i get to the studio!

Euro parts for others...maybe. I might be able to get my hands on some and ship them out or something, haha

Eagle idaho is in idaho obviously, and the city is called Eagle, its about 10 miles out of Boise. SUPER nice city :) haha

Congrats! Glad you could Aim High and Cross into the Blue.

How did you feel about BMT? What TRS were you in?
323 TRS "VIPERS"!! Strike First, Stike Fast, Strike Hard.

Mildenhall is pretty quite as another mentioned. I'm sure you will stay busy though with training and what not.

If your looking for an e30 in the UK, you need to visit e30zone.co.uk
It will be your number one source for e30 info while stationed in the UK.

Edit: Do you plan on taking leave after tech school? I ask because if you are, it will be easier to ship a car because you can do it while back home. If your not taking leave, then someone back home will need to get the car inspected and take it to the nearest port for shipment.

I take that back they have changed the JFTR

6.2.4 Military members are not required to ship a POV each time they are authorized shipment in order to permit shipment on subsequent PCS orders. Therefore, a military member may ship a POV upon return from overseas, even though they did not ship one to the overseas area (JFTR Vol. 1, Para U5440-A and AF Sup/JFTR, Para 6.6.1).
Best of luck but unless is 20/25 it will need federalized.
