As long as the Peugeot don't start breaking I think they have it.

Still way too early to tell though.

edit:And #2 is done, Lucas is out of the car.

Yeah, definitely too early to tell, but with the Audis dropping like flies, it's Peugeot's race to lose with three cars in the top 5. I expect some hiccups from both teams throughout the nighttime.

In reference to the Speed streaming coverage, the American commentator is a complete fucking prick and needs to leave. The Irish (or whatever) guy he replaced wasn't much better IMO. Bring back Dorsey, Leigh, and company.

Fear not, perhaps they'll come back to ALMS later on to compete against... themselves... for three fucking seasons.

Edit: Sorry, I should have added that I am a pretty strong Aston fan who felt extremely short-changed about them competing in limited ALMS schedules (or not competing at all) for the last few years.

Yeah I know, Aston tried and said fuck it, so did the boys from Maranello who also failed miserably. Though they both put a valiant effort and did force the Vettes to step it up to continue to dominate the class.

Nahhh the Government dose not think racing is a viable way to develop technology to bring to market in 5 years, Word is this will be the last season for the Vette racing program.

Eh, give Prodrive (responsible for the 550 GTS Maranello, 575 GTC Maranello, and the DBR9) some credit. They had numerous solid performances, numerous class wins, numerous 24H Le Mans class wins, and in the end it all came down to the small UK-based team competing against the powerhouse that was Chevrolet/Pratt and Miller. Saying that they "tried and said fuck it" is a bit off, but not far from the truth I'll admit. FoMoCo's sale of Aston really hurt their motorsport efforts (particularly with ALMS in the States.)

This was going to be the last season for the GT1 vettes regardless. That class is pretty much dead, even on the international level, it's obviously been dead for over 4 years in the US.

Corvette has a GT2 car that's allegedly debuting at Mid Ohio. That will continue, albeit probably scaled back.

Ugh, the American douchebag is on the air now (for those who are listening.)

Pugs are P1, P2, P10, and P13. Audi's are P3, P5, P8, P40, and the #2 Audi Sport NA car piloted by Luhr is finally done.

Hell yeah... I started a thread in the New England forum for a meet up at Lime Rock for the ALMS race.

Um, why? They showed 19 hours of the race, and streamed the rest off their website.

I'm sure one of the many other motorsports related networks are just itching to cover niche sports car racing, just like they did before Speedvision. You know, like the ones that jumped at the bit to pick up WRC, LMS, Aussie V8s, DTM, etc.

                              *cough*.

Being a long time owner of a Peugot I was very impressed with their finishes today. Makes me wanna go out and find me an injection pump and put my 85' 505 STI TD back on the road! LOL

Great race, the vette really made me nervous coming in with an 8 lap lead to "clean" the car so it looked good at the finish of the race.............
