Bullshit? So you think the fact that Michael Jackson was beaten and emotionally abused by his father throughout his childhood has NOTHING to do with how he ended up? There is an obvious correlation and I am pretty sure he said so himself.

This is one of the only times I will agree with our resident liberal. I'm positive if MJ had a better upbringing, he wouldn't have turned out the way he did.

That's true, but you cannot blatantly deny that his father's intense pressure had nothing to do with how he turned out. Odds are that's the case, it can never be proved, but there is a strong correlation between the two.

My life growing up was far less than perfect. But when I became an adult, I chose not to blame my parents for my problems. I worked them out and resolved them instead.

I totally agree. It isn't a standard across the board that people with hard childhoods will become screwed up adults with no ifs ands or buts. People DO overcome their obstacles and can lead normal, healthy lives (ie. you and JAnderson)
However, it takes a special kind of person with an intense inner drive to overcome it, and maybe MJ didn't have it.

Possibly. We'll never know though. Personally, I believe if he had a childhood where he wasn't pressured as much, he wouldn't have turned out like he did, but that is my opinion and you are entitled to your own.
