Streichholzschächtelchen. literal translation = stroke wooden shafts little. haha sounds kind of gay. "chen" is the diminutive form, like "ito/a" in spanish.

strike-holtz-shecht-el-*hard ch* chyen. thats as close as i can come to writing it out.

i haven't heard of anyone buying a normal ipod for a long time. i used to think i needed more than 30GB of music with me, but the 32GB cap on the iphone is pretty much perfect, although a little tight.

I think I'm just going to get a zune 120. I give up, the whole time I had this ipod it frustrated me, one less bothersome thing in my life. I can't even get it to show my music folders (i've done the hidden folder thing before). Looks like I'm just gonna have to sort my music from my sister's on the computer. :weak:

i love the zune. i find the interface much more appealing than the ipod circular clickwheel, and the screen is a hell of a lot nicer. wifi syncing is great, too. its just a little annoying you have to use the zune software to sync instead of just WMP, but its nice software and IMO better than itunes (for windows). good luck.

Awesome. You think it has a better built in amplifier? Thinking about running some 2G Ultrasone DJ1 Pro's through the Zune, might get a pocket amp anyways.

I've been an apple user for a long time. Although I still don't know why. 4 of my laptops have become bricks, for all various reasons, hdd failure, lcd failure, OS crashes (yes OS 9 and 10 can crash, trust me). Even now my freakin updated Leopard (soon to be Snow Leopard) freezes consistently. You would think that with 4gb ram and a 2.6GHz Dual Core it could at least be nice enough to run Pshop and Flash moderately at the same time.

Oh yeah I've been through 10 Ipod Nano's in just 4 years, 8 bricks, one I broke, and the other one seems to be working.

Apple is renowned for having shitty hardware, luckily they have a fantastic Marketing Team that works much along the same lines as Obama's marketing team: Have good customer service and advertising to make people think they are getting their money's worth so that they over look the fact that their product is inherently defective. (Yes I just went there, I'm pissed as hell about the Cap and Trade Bill, fuck off).

I'll stick with my custom PC, it runs everything I throw at it including 5 Adobe programs at once, flawlessly! Even the stock MacPro can't do that, 16GB of RAM does jack shit compared to my 8!!!!!

Mine, HFI-2200, friggen love em, they sound fine thru my ipod, of course nowhere near as my lossless sources but they still sound great on the ipod. Buy yours from northern light and sound, they make you pay $1 membership fee to see their prices but you won't be disappointed. Lemme know if you wanna price check anything on their site.

To answer your question though, the Ipod has a pretty bad amp in it, I haven't seen the Zune's specs to compare. I honestly almost never use the ultrasones on my Ipod, as I have a really nice sound card on my mcpc. My Westone UM2's get the ipod.

I have a macbook thats been working excellent for years woth ABSOLUTELY no problems. Runs just as fast as the day I bought it. My Dad owns some PC that is only a few years old and is slow, laggy, and freezes all the time. We have a guy come out every 6 months to work on it so that it will still run.
I've owned 5 ipods and now the iphone which I've never ever had a problem with. My friend owns a zune that plain and simple stopped working.

it is a fact that the audio quality from an ipod classic is inferior to that of the zune and also the sony mp3 players. the ipod touches and iphones are a lot better than the classic in this regard.

bottom line is, if you are using quality headphones you can certainly tell a difference.

my vote goes to the zune for mass storage mp3 players, not that there are all that many anymore.

mac and pc use IDENTICAL hardware, intel based processing. You can install OSX on a pc and install windows on a mac. Its funny when fanboys like to act all superior. You have "a guy come out", really? Obviously, your vast knowledge of computers which necessitates "a guy coming out" should really be telling people what is a better system

I actually gave them a ring for you as of may 10th they stopped carrying them. They still have HFI2200's for $185 msrp $329 and icans ranging from $65-$93 depending on color msrp $169-$219. The lady read me the statement Ultrasone sent them, which pretty much gave them no reason as to why they refuse to sell to NSL anymore, she said her legal rep said a few distributors were complaining about pricing and that Ultrasone didn't want to sell to a wholesale club.

Looks like I might buy some hfi 2200s instead, been looking at reviews online about them. I need headphones with decent bass, without lacking in the mids. Good looking out on the phone call.
