Na, I see what you are saying, i think I look at this 7 kind of like that. The owner I am sure put more effort into it than the buddy club guy, but at the same time, it is still overboard IMO. I can't get behind a dumped 7 series. I just cant. It would be like doing it to a Jag, or a big body benz. It just doesn't match the car.Leave a comment:

Many of them, yes. They're enthusiasts. They have their own style. Do you like it? Probably not. Do they spend time, money and effort to do what they enjoy? Yeah. And I bet you could ask any of them about it, and they'll tell you everything they can. They know their shit. I know this for a fact, because I've met a lot of them in ATL.
If they spent time and effort, learned about it, and just happen to be in to the crazy custom body kits and such, then sure. I can respect it. Do I like it? Not at all.
See where I'm going with this? Cars are cars. People do what they like to them. I can respect all work and effort that goes in to a car.
I may not respect the bondo-covered broken-buddy-club-kitted fart-canned primered-and-reprimered dump on wheels, but its because that person isn't an enthusiast, they put no work in to their car, and they know nothing.

We should respect all car enthusiasts. Even those that put 26's on caprice classics? After all, they are "into" their cars. How bout the ones who stick fake vents and reverse their rims, or put crazy pep-boys spoilers and neons on their cars? They love cars, they absolutly LOVE them. So we should respect them right? What about this guy?
He is the ultimate car enthusiast, so maybe we should respect his "style" as well....
Give me a break.
Have fun on your site kids. Watch your oilpans, and your rear towers.Leave a comment:

Thank you sir.Spastic and the rest of the stance oriented crew enjoy making their cars stance look nice, while other people enjoy tracking their cars, drifting, or making them go fast in a straight line. Regardless of whatever method they choose to enjoy their cars, they are still car enthusiasts and we should respect them. You may not like it, and if you don't, you need to grow up.

Wait a sec..... How the the fuck am I????feeling the need to attack anyone whose opinions in how they put a car together are different than your own
I very rarely shit on anyones preferences. I simply said a 7 series dumped like this is a bad use of a cool car. And the fact that it failed prooved it. Schroeder, your car is far from what I would consider my style and type of e30. But that being said, I doubt you will do anything so extreme that your shock towers will go shooting through the body. I happen to like what TJ and Spastic have done to their cars (you may or may not know who TJ is but for the sake of people reading this I mentioned him). I love spastic's 6er.... it is the shit. If it ends up broken, I will say I told you so, and he will argue with me. Let he and I hash this out. We do it all the time.
Thanks for the input though.
EDIT.
I have no problem with Spastic as a person. He seems like a cool kid. His taste is different than mine, and I along with others have every right to tell him that just as much as he has every right to post pics, and retort when I state my opinion. If he keeps posting stuff I don't agree with, I will keep stating my opinion, just like others do. If he posts cool pics (which he always does, I will compliment him. Which I always do.Last edited by delatlanta1281; 07-07-2009, 10:29 PM.Leave a comment:

I can kinda relate this to the snowboarding scene.
Alot of people will hate on certain types of snowboarders (ie. skinny tight pants emo wearing fags, wannabe gangsters, etc etc) or hate on what type of terrain they ride (urban, park, big mountain). In the end though it is still all snowboarding regardless of what path a person chooses. They're doing something they love on a board, and people shouldn't give them shit for doing what they enjoy doing.

Here's the problem:
There are two types of guys who mod cars. There are guys who genuinely don't care what other people do to their cars. They may or may not like it, but if they don't, they share their opinion, and then move on.
Then there are guys who don't like what other people do, and they stick around and incessantly bash their opinion over everyone's heads expecting to convince the guys he's bashing that he's right.
You don't like the 7? You don't like my rusty 5? You don't like me? You don't like my website? That's cool, you're entitled to that. I honestly don't care.... but say your piece and then move on. :)
I post my car too much? Put me on your ignore list. Don't stand around and tell me how you think I think I'm the smuggest shit on earth and that I'm too cool for school- that I'm a unique individual and I think I'm the most original mother fucker ever.
None of the above is true. I copied the VW guys who were rusting their cars, and I did it a couple years late. I made my car more or less undriveably low- I can't turn without rubbing, and I can't hit the gas hard without rubbing rim out back. My wheels are worth 1000x more than my car, which is sad, and I post my car all the time.
I know all of this. We all know all of this. I'm not ashamed of it, if I was, I wouldn't post it here every couple of weeks.
Soooooo....

7s weren't meant to go that low. Fluid made their 7 go that low. That's their decision, it's what they want to do with their own car. The shock mounts failed, so they beef'd 'em up.
I fail to see the problem.
You're doing a lot of preaching about modding cars. It's fine if you don't like it, but don't act like it's wrong to do.Leave a comment:

Why do you feel the need to attack anyone whose opinions in how they put a car together are different than your own? If you don't like the scene, don't come here and bitch about it to us. Great. You think it's stupid. Please go away. Not what I am saying at all. There comes a point in modding or changing a car when "cool" goes out the window. For instance... when you rust your wrecked car out, then take it to meets and post multiple pics of it in multiple threads, then when people call you out you get super defensive, while saying you don't care, you did it for yourself. If I drooped my car to the point of the rear PUNCHING through the parcel shelf, I would lose it. what exactly makes that car so awesome? How can you even begin to defend that drop when it DIDN"T WORK properly? It's a waste.Leave a comment:
