Worst Vacations

What have been your worst vacation experiences/stories?

I don't really have anything too bad, except being in Paris during that heat wave a few years back and that isn't even that bad, but my girlfriend is in Europe for a cruise and it sounds like she is having the vacation from hell.

Her family was supposed to go for a cruise around the Meditteranean (sp?) and left last week. I guess the airline overbooked their flight so they didn't get on their original flight and missed all their connections.
They were on standby for a few flights before my girlfriend, her brother and her dad all got on one flight together while her mom had to stay in SF. They all had to sit in random places and her seat didn't recline for the direct flight all the way to Europe.

I guess they all eventually made it to Europe and met up, but the airlines lost all their luggage, so they are on the cruise now wearing the same clothes everyday since it's too expensive to buy a new wardrobe for everyone.


No one speaks English so she just hangs out with her brother and they don't have internet. She didn't even want to go in the first place.

Plus she's on her period

I knew a couple that went to Italy for their Honeymoon a few years back. When they left the airport in Rome they were forced off the road and were robbed for all their jewelry, cash and they even took all the luggage.

In 2001 I went to vegas for a pool tournament a friend and I won.

2 hookers, a smashed up Escalade, 3 charges, and -1500$ later, I was on my way back to new england. Only to have to go back a month later for a court date.

Headed to Great Falls. The girlfriends mom's side of the family is there so I get to go meet them all.

It should be alright actually, if her grandparents are as cool as her parents are, it should be a good time.

And I'm excited to go to a part of the country I've never been to before.

I've never been in that area, My parents have a cabin in Idaho near Yellowstone, so I generally stay down around there. I try to make it up to Bozeman when Im up there.

Paris 3 years ago with my wife and another couple, friends of hers from college. You Know how they say"friendship is one thing travelling with them is another"? Well all they wanted to do was eat at mcdonalds or get food to go because it was 1 euro cheaper. Not to mention French hate foreigners. After 3 days of that bs I talked my wife into ditching them and took the train to Tuscany. Best vacation ever! Gobs of wine for lunch and 4 hour dinners. Gelato twice a day.
