I guess I could look for an e28 or 325e sedan for winter, and just bite the bullet and accept there will be downtime

I'm just sick of winter beaters. my 328 was great this year, it was nice having something comfortable in the winter for a change. such is life.
I have a couple e28's for winter! They are VERY stable; I even drove one back from the Catskills through a winter storm in PA all the way to OH... Not one problem. I keep my e30 2.8 coupe and my vert for summer, mostly!
    e30 x2 (1 cab) lotsa mods; e46 w/m3 front bumper + 330zhp suspension, e36/7 (z3) 3.0i :p

heh. David, do you remember how much I missed my e34 when I got to octoberfest in the e36?

I've been looking around, and it seems they can be had in the ~$2k range. I might be able to swing 2k for a beater

btw I was drooling over murray's at the glen
