    You're both wrong.

There are human rights guidelines and then there is the convention on the treatment of captured combatants. They are very different and although the human rights guidelines apply to all, the convention does not. Also, there are degrees to this that people are gleefully ignoring.

If you classify those men in Gitmo as enemy combatants, then the GC does apply. If you classify them as criminal, then GC does not apply. However, I think you would be surprised to find that those men were not tortured by definition. Were they mistreated? Yeah. But that was the point. They were interigated. Far worse happened on all sides during WWII and those were countries that signed the GC. It isn't a nice world out there and sometimes, the good guys have to step up and do the hard things so the sheep can continue to be the sheep.

It's beside the point anyway. This is yet another Obama fan deflecting attention from Obama and trying to lay all the world's ills at Bush's feet. Obama's people are good at deflecting it seems. Too bad it's about all they are good at.

With all of these, you are of course trying to disparage Bush. You are not effectively supporting Obama either.

"False pretenses" is an interpretation of what happened. If there is a valid reason to use military force, then yes, I would approve.

Again, "torture" is an interpretation of what happened. If you go by that definition, then military special forces training is torture too. Bush made a decision that he felt would help to protect America. That decision does not necessarily go against the GC. But he knew that it would be politically risky. Obama probably wouldn't have the balls to make that kind of decision, ever.

You goofed there, it was Clinton that had the intel and ignored it. Anything related to Bush is pure conspiracy bunk and not worthy of any thought.

Of course it comes from all politicians. That's the point. The media and Obama followers give him a complete free pass on all of his gaffs. Now, I understand the true believers doing that, but the media should be all over it, and they are not.

And yet again, here we are bringing up Bush to justify Obama. It's an invalid argument and always will be.

Obama has lined up more gaffs than Bush, Cheney and Quayle combined (I had to throw in Quayle to make the comparison worthwhile) in just 5 months. That's a pretty good record there, don't you think?

    They deserve it. Honestly.

I'm not even trying to be a dick but these are really not the right answers...

Conspiracy theories? I'm not too well read on this subject, so show me proof that there was foreshadowing to the attacks that Bush ignored.

You're deluded if you think that Obama is the only politician to make questionable decisions. It happens from all politicians on both sides of the aisle.
I never said Obama was the only one, I'm not that ignorant. I'm just sick of everyone thinking Obama can do nothing wrong, when he is blatantly running this country into the ground and blaming everything on Bush.

    yes

For anyone who is reading and wants to play the Bush blame game, consider this:

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics
    would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and
incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and
historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos
of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and
    tacky?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent
"Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people
who cannot seem to keep current on their income taxes would you have
    approved?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de
Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May
(Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you
    have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single
tree on "Earth Day", would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over
millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing
widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually "get" what
    happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter
installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have
laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is
really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation,
even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have
    approved?

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken
more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have
    approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again 10 times within
    years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by
90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura
Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved ?

So what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and
impressive? He's done all of the above
in just 5 months and there is still three years and seven
    months left .

Interesting. Though, still not a private company.

....Congress passed the biggest changes to the USPS in three decades with legislation that capped postage-rate increases at the rate of inflation and called for the Postal Service to cut its infrastructure. This was before the recession hit, though, and the downturn has only accelerated the changes that need to happen.

Seems pretty government run to me?

Contrary to what many people might guess, the USPS is not a government agency. It hasn't received direct subsidies since the early 1980s. Aside from a miniscule fraction of its budget for free mail services for the blind and Congress' franking privileges, the Postal Service pays its own way with postage revenues, which in fiscal year 2008, reached $75 billion.

Soooo since the post office is run by the government and has problems and the private companies are doing fine, we should have the government take over healthcare?
