Planning a possible Euro Trip, suggestions or tips?

Hey everyone. I've wanted to go make a trip into Europe for a couple or few years now, and really want to do it before I'm 30, preferably in the next year or so actually if money allows.

At this point it's all up in the air, and I'd like to basically backpack around with one or two other people, including probably my brother. I haven't planned anything yet, I'm just throwing it out there to get ideas before I do any hardcore research past the little bit I know already.

All I know is that a preliminary rough itinerary would look something like flying into London, staying in England for a few days, then taking the chunnel into France. Check the sights out there some, move along into Italy, then Germany with all the BMW attractions, autobahn, and the 'Ring, out to Amsterdam, and back home. I'd plan on making the trip between 3 and 4 weeks. We'd probably travel around primarily with the Europass.

I'm looking for just any sort of advice of what to do, where to stay, what to expect, etc, if any of you have the experience of being or living over there. Also, if there are any good sites catered to this specific sort of trip, I'd like to know of them.

Go to the Ring and get a car from http://www.rent-racecar.de/gb/

Trust me, great fun. Get the Rocco.

I did that last month. I'm already planning on selling more stuff and going back in May to get the E46 M for a day.

And check out Nurnburg as well, that is the perfect German city and it's only an hour north of Munich (BMW).

buy an oyster card as soon as you laid in the UK.
you can buy tickets for each trip in paris, or a booklet
buy an s-bahn pass in munich.

never been to italy but you could save it for going with a romantic chick, it's fully of sweaty creeps and tourists. paris is full of north africans and tourists. germany is a great place with laid back people and lots of culture. UK has a lot of diversity and some crazy times. Zoo Bar in leicester square is mandatory.

Go to Pink Elephant and see the show.

if you learn to say please and thank you in the native tongue of whatever country you're in, you'll find there is no problem being an american anywhere

the cinque terra of italy is fun, lago como is cool, rome and paris are big dusty cities, france has the best food (outside paris) and the cheapest wine
