    Cardboard boat

I'm building a cardboard boat at a "festival" for the kids, and am having trouble locating any diy instructions.
Any folks here ever made one of these things?
The kid has to row this bloody thing after its constructed, so it has to be structurally good.

    Any ideas folks?

Cardboard tubes would help keep it structurally sound. They also add a lot of buoyancy. Make sure you make it large so it doesn't just tip over.

I believe all we get for cardboard is one 4 by 8 sheet of 3/8 thick cardboard.
My nieghbours 45lb daughter will be the captain of said SS MINOW.

We are looking into designing one without seams below the water and just folds to increase structural strength.
Here is what we got so far.

That's a silly design, there's no way a human could fit in that.

            Nice sunflower decals though.

I had to do this for my high school physics class.
We didn't have a limit on cardboard that we needed to use though, so ours was pretty sturdy. The other class had a limit though, and not one of them made it halfway across the pool before they flipped.
I'm sure you could google search and find a template.

Tried the GOOGLE, and lots of hits but no design templates that i could find that will fit our limited cardboard allowance.

Oh well, wing it it is.

Well, we finished 6th out of about 30 boats. It was an absolute riot.

Our boat was a tad over engineered, as it actually lasted 45min in the water before the bottom fell out. LOL

Pretty strong boat as it held me at 205lbs.

You might be able to start with a concrete pillar mold. You'd have to add stability to it so it doesn't roll but it shouldn't b too hard. Just an idea.
